consequently in 1987 the hospital opened a new location equipped withsu cient facilities and professional equipment which increased thee ciency of medical care. Currently, Calafat Municipal Hospital has over250 beds and it is organized into ve departments (internal medicine,general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, the tuberculosisdepartment Poiana Mare) and eight divisions (anesthesia andintensive care, neonatology, neurology, orthopedic and traumatology,balneophysiotherapy, dermato-venerology, ophthalmology, ENT). Thereare over 300 hospital employees, of which around 50 are doctors and 180nurses. In Calafat city there exist also 10 medical individual o ces of familyphysicians, 8 dental o ces, 8 pharmacies and pharmaceutical points.
