    throughout Australia for international students and young

    professionals. The Navitas Professional Internship

    Program provides a unique opportunity to discover

    something new about yourself and the world of work in

    Australia. We provide participants with vocational

    placements that lead to professional and personal

    growth for better career prospects.

    Navitas ProfessionalInternship Program

    The internship is a vocational

    placement* as part of the

    Workplace Effectiveness program

    Flexible program duration: the normal

    length for an internship is 12 weeks,

    but this can be tailored to meet

    individual training needs

    (minimum 8 weeks)

    A professional training plan and

    tailored placement

    Workplace diagnostic testing including

    The International Career Readiness

    Certificate from ACT Inc.

    English language study options

    Navitas ProfessionalInternships in Australia

    Program participants spend time immersed

    in a host organisation alongside Australian

    professionals. The program length can be

    tailored to individual needs, however the

    recommended duration is 12 weeks for an

    effective workplace experience so

    participants get the most out of their

    vocational placement.

    Navitas Workforce Solutions and your host

    organisation will create a training plan and

    allocate a mentor so you, the participant,will get the most out of your internship and

    Australian experience. Take the opportunity

    to gain international experience and fill the

    gap between university and your career.

    Once your application has been accepted and your deposit paid, a Navitas Professional Internship

    Coordinator will take you through these five steps.

    Your vocational placement is a key

    component of the Certificate in Workplace

    Effectiveness. During the program it is

    important that participants develop an

    understanding of the skills needed by

    professionals in the Australian workplace.

    As part of the Navitas Professional

    Internship Training Program all participants

    are required to complete an online learning

    component that complements their

    vocational placement and training plan.

    This will assist in building workplaceeffectiveness skills and enhance the career

    development experience.

    The program is based on the Australian Qualification

    Training Framework module BSBWOR301A.

    Australia is one of the worlds top internship destinations.

    It is a dynamic and vibrant country with friendly, confident

    people. Living in a multicultural nation with over 20 million

    people, youll be able to travel and gain practical

    experience in a supportive and professional environment.

    Your Australian experience can take you to

    vibrant and cosmopolitan cities, tropicalrainforests, barren deserts, and some ofthe most beautiful beaches on earth.

    Adelaide

    With a population of 1.2 million people,

    Adelaide is Australias most affordablestate capital. Known as the food and winecapital, it has more restaurants per head ofpopulation than any other major Australian

    city. The climate varies from 18C in winterto 35C in summer. You can enjoy thesurrounding wine growing areas of the

    Barossa Valley and Clare Valley, long sandybeaches on the peninsula, the dramaticFlinders Ranges and wildlife on KangarooIsland. There are many cultural and historic

    attractions in Adelaide, including theAdelaide Botanic Garden, Adelaide Zoo andthe South Australian Museum.

    Brisbane

    With a population of 2 million, Brisbane isthe state capital of Queensland. The climate

    is warm all year round, with summer highs of36C. In Brisbane itself, you can explore theCity Botanic Gardens, Lone Pine Koala

    Sanctuary and Southbank Parklands. Onehours drive south is the Gold Coast and onehours drive north is the Sunshine Coast,both renowned for their long sandy beaches.

    Melbourne

    Melbourne, in the south-east of Australia,

    has a population of 3.2 million people andis a cosmopolitan and multi-cultural city.Average daily temperatures range from

    14C in winter to 35C in summer. Localattractions include the Melbourne CricketGround, St Kilda beach, art galleries,theatres and museums. Theres plenty to

    see in the surrounding areas of Victoriaincluding the Great Ocean Road, snowfields

    in the high country, vineyards in the YarraValley, and the history of the Goldfieldsregion. Dont miss the fairy penguins onPhillip Island!

    Perth

    The capital of Western Australia, Perth, has

    wonderful beaches where you can watch

    the sun set over the ocean and many parksalong the Swan River. The historic harbourtown of Freemantle and the vineyards of

    the Margaret River region are nearby. Theweather is always pleasant, with averagedaily temperatures ranging from 20C to36C year-round.

    Sydney

    With a population of 4.5 million, Sydney is

    Australias largest city and a populardestination for travellers from all over theworld. There is so much to see and do in

    the city: you can explore Sydney Harbour

    by ferry, the Opera House, Taronga Zoo,Bondi Beach and the historic Rocks area.Nearby youll find the Blue Mountains,

    Who is eligible to enrol inthe Navitas ProfessionalInternship Program?

    To enrol, participants must have:

    Recently completed or currently be

    completing a relevant university degree

    related to the internship field

    Upper-intermediate English skills

    of General IELTS 5.5 or equivalent

    (TOEFL: IBT 69-70/CBT 196/PBT 525)

    unless you are a native English speaker

    A successful study history

    What visa is required toundertake the NavitasProfessional InternshipProgram in Australia?

    Participants are required to have a suitable

    visa to undertake an internship program in

    Australia. Please contact us for more

    information and to discuss your individual

    situation. For more information about visas

    please visit immi.gov.au.

    When can I start my internship?

    The Navitas Professional Internship

    Program requires candidates to submit their

    application three months before intended

    commencement. This enables us to assess

    your eligibility for the program, confirm a

    suitable placement and develop a training

    plan with the host organisation.

    Are internships paid or unpaid?

    Your internship is a vocational placement,

    and generally in Australia these are unpaid.

    The primary goal of a vocational placementis to gain practical experience in your chosen

    profession as part of a training program.

    Will there be a list of hostcompanies to choose from?

    Navitas Professional Internship Coordinators

    will process your application and liaise with

    you to match the best host company to your

    profile. Navitas will select a host company

    and you will be offered an interview for a

    placement with that company. The

    Internship Opportunities section of our

    website lists a selection of internships

    currently available.

    How do I apply for theNavitas ProfessionalInternship Program?

    Applicants will need to submit the following

    be considered for the program:
