KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMMEThe early interactions directly affect the way connections are made in the brain. Early experiences are crucial to the future well-being of children, establish the foundation for the acquisition of knowledge and skills that will affect later learning and behaviour. Before they go to school, children have been learning in a variety of environments – in their homes and in childcare. We understand children are from different backgrounds and experiences and at different stages of development. We provide a positive secure, respectful, and nurturing learning experience to young children so that children thrive within classrooms.

Knowledge and skills for the following six areas of learning:Personal and Social Development Language Mathematics Science and Technology Health and Physical Activity The Arts

Our early childhood educators, and all the members of the school community, work together to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences that will build confidence of the children & encourage them to continue to see learning as both enjoyable and useful, and provide a strong foundation for their future intellectual, physical, and social development.

By the end of Kindergarten, SURYA KIDS willdemonstrate a sense of identity and a positive self-imagedemonstrate an initial understanding of the diversity in individuals, families, schools, and the wider community.demonstrate independence, self-regulation, and a willingness to take responsibility in learning and other activities.demonstrate an ability to use problem-solving skills in a variety of social contextsidentify and use social skills in play and other contexts;demonstrate an awareness of their surroundings.communicate by talking and by listening and speaking to otherscommunicate in writing

In our school, educators emphasis learning by doing and making our students learn through first-hand experience. This prepares students to succeed in the 21st century. Hands-on learning, active involvement in learning process with adequate exposure to technology will address individual differences. While the belief that all students are capable learners is true, a secure and safe environment will promote responsibility, self-esteem and great communication skills. Our educational mission will be to lay a sound educational foundation that promotes integrity, self worth and life-long learning.

We aim at effective teaching / learning during early childhood, middle years to secondary education, in formal and non-formal setting. The school will be a place of excellence where children can achieve their full potential in academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and above all spiritual spheres. It will be a place where children and adults make useful contribution and are valued as individuals. Universal human values will be imparted to gain respect for themselves and others. The school strives to achieve a new partnership among children, parents, staff, management and community at large.

The SURYADATTA EDUCATION FOUNDATION was established as a society and trust with the sole aim of creating and developing professional education facilities to train the aspiring young generation and to provide dedicated, ambitious and skilled professionals an opportunity to serve the society and the nation at large.

At Suryadatta, we believe that ''The union of Science and Spirituality alone will bring Harmony and Peace to Humanity" as said by Swami Vivekanand. The vision of the founders is to create a "Centre of Excellence in the field of Education Research".

The School focuses not only on the advanced academic offerings but also on the extra curricular activities. Students are trained at a very young age towards incorporating a sense of responsibility, loyalty, team spirit and healthy competition so as to develop positive attitude in them. They are encouraged to participate in co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities. Inter-House and inter-school competitions are held regularly for molding their over personalities. Music, Art, Dance, almost all the indoor and outdoor Sports, Yoga, Abacus and Vedic etc. will begin in the first academic year. The school assures to bring about national scholars who would excel in competitive examinations and still be rooted to Indian values and culture.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Suryadatta National School focuses on the overall development of the students. Children have extra periods for a wide spectrum of activities in Art, Music, Dance, dramatics, creative writing etc.

These activities enhance the student's ability to communicate and develop team spirit. Every child gets an opportunity to discover different facets of his / her personality. These activities prepare the students' to face an ever changing, challenging world.

PERFORMING ARTS

Acting and Drama lessons improve intelligence and communication levels. Working with scripts helps improve reading and diction. Acting, dancing skills and doing tasks such as improvisation develops imagination and self expression. The performing arts are an important aspect of music and dance and are a method of enhancing music literacy and appreciation. Our final goal is to create a well rounded, thoughtful and independent music maker, dance choreographer, painter etc. The fine arts section is more than experiential, hence we offer opportunities to create, recreate and appreciate satisfying musical, dance or painting expression. Dance and Drama help children develop their personalities, gain self-confidence and improve communication skills. Children develop fluency of movement and action, and learn to express themselves in a creative manner. Children learn singing as well as playing simple musical instruments right from the primary school. This helps them to appreciate a mix of Indian and Western music. Students are encouraged to develop their talents keeping in mind their interest and innate potential. Professionals are appointed to hone their talents further.

11

The role of Arts is recognized as an expression of human ingenuity, creativity and

innovation. It is in this context that the curriculum envisages a more meaningful role

of Visual and Performing Arts in the classrooms. Students develop a sense of

aesthetics, appreciation and expression in art. One of the objectives of education is

to inculcate in children, the appreciation of beauty and to help them develop a sense

of aesthetics. A lot of emphasis is placed on the Fine as well as the Performing Arts.

In primary school, compulsory exposure is given to art and craft, music, dance &

dramatics. In Middle school, each student chooses one or two areas to develop

expertise in, and skilled guidance is provided on a regular basis. Modules are taught

using a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including lectures, role play,

dramatization and workshops. Students are often expected to prepare projects and

presentations. For projects, students carry out practical art work which forms the

basis for research into art, craft and design education. Students are also provided

with study packs for independent study modules. In addition to painting, sketching

and regular craftwork, students are exposed to a variety of media. Students receive

instruction in Fine Arts from Kindergarten to high School.
