Quidway S3000 series EnterpriseWorkgroup Switch (S3026/3026E)
OVERVIEW
Quidway S3026/S3026E are box-type layer 2 wire-speed
Ethernet switch with 10/100M aggregation in service pro-
vider data centers, metropolitan area networks and wiring
closets. They provide 24 10/100M auto-sensing ports and 2
optional slots which support 2 FE/GE ports uplinks. Com-
paring with S3026, S3026E provides intelligent quality of
service (QoS), powerful ACL and rate limiting for operable
network.

Main Features
Product Features:
High performance:
Full wire-speed layer 2 forwarding on each port.
Perfect compatibility:
Providing the standard switching functions and sup-
porting the standard Ethernet protocols, They are
fully compatible with the existing network facilities.
and supports the smooth connection and inter-work-
ing with other manufacturers’ equipment on the ba-
sis of industry standards.
Smooth upgrade and scalability:
A) Smooth upgrade:
Based on Quidway VRP software, they provide
flexible upgrade methods tag hybrid strategy;
B) Good expandability:
nProvide GE/FE uplink ability by configuring dif-
ferent modules;
nSupport the connection of fibers or cables by
configuring different modules;
nProvide more functions by upgrading software.
Supporting abundant service features:
A. QoS
Based on 802.1p tags priority control, Quidway
S3026 supports two priorities and Quidway
S3026E supports four priorities.
B. ACL
Quidway S3026E supports L2-L7 access control
list upon any of following conditions or their
combination:source IP address, destination IP
address, DSCP, IP protocol type, TOS, source
port number, destination port number, etc.
C. Multicast
Support IGMP Snooping.
D. Security features
Support locking and static setting of MAC address
table, and the controlled filtering of MAC.
E. VLAN
nSupporting the port-based VLAN;
nSupporting the VLAN based on IEEE 802.1Q tag;
nSupporting the VLAN based on port and 802.1Q
tag hybrid strategy;
nSupporting VLAN Trunk.
F. Port Mirroring
Support the port-based mirroring mode.
Convenient remote diagnosis
S3000 provide the system software/hardware test
and diagnosis function, including power-on self-
test and command test. S3000 support the loop
back test inside/outside the Ethernet port/serial port
to locate the fault to a specific service port or chip.
S3000 enjoy powerful functions for testing, such
as explicitly displaying current status of each task
and the status of address table etc. S3000 are de-
signed with the tools like Ping and Tracert etc for
network connection test, so as to verify whether
the network connection is reachable and keep track
of path of packet, serving as a reference for
troubleshooting.

Product application
Quidway S3000 can provide high-speed Ethernet access through category 5 unshielded
twist pair (UTP Cat.5) for residential area, hotels, enterprises etc, and provide desktop class
or workgroup class multi-layer switch service for enterprise network.
Broadband Residential Area Ethernet Access
Figure 5 is an example for Quidway S3000 as corridor switch. It can down-link to users via
10M/100M category 5 unshielded twist pair direct access, and via GE, FE up-link to IP
router or small capacity L3 switch. In broadband residential area access networking, Quidway
S3500 will be installed in the center of residential area, and down-link to S3000 or other
access switches.

In enterprise and campus network, many Quidway S3000 act as L2 Ethernet switch and
then converge traffic to L3 switch. By this means, a total network solution is given for enter-
prise network from backbone to desktop.
