OCTOBER 27TH TO NOVEMBER 2NDHUNTSVILLE ALABAMA
TAKE THE CHALLENGE!#IASP2019AEXA
INTERNATIONAL AIR& SPACE PROGRAM
WHAT IS IASP?
WHO IS THE IASP FOR?
The International Air and Space Program is a challenging 5-day educational program held in Huntsville Alabama. The students will work on a secret mission, this involves teamwork problem solving and communication, among students and expert NASA engineers to adapt & solve any unexpected problems.
This call is open for students worldwide, from middle school to college.
WHAT DOES IASP OFFER?
This Educational Program boosts tomorrow's leaders in STEM areas. The dynamic splits into two phases:
The students will have free access to streaming and courses on which they will be trained prior to their participation in the competition
Students attending the program will be organized in
teams with students of all school's and countries
participants with the goal to develop a secret mission
PHASE 2
PHASE 1
PHASE 2
This mission will promote teamwork, communication between students and expert NASA engineers and adapting in order to solve unexpected problems.
AEXA will assign a mentor to be in charge of every team. The groups
will work on the development of different tasks, with the goal of
generating the best approach to the project on the mission, as the
aerospace industry does in real life.
During 1 week the students will learn and solve problems related with the mission; they will be trained on the construction and launching of rockets, design and build up rovers, experience neutral buoyancy and the enforcement of flying procedures on an aircraft during a supervised flight.
In order to develop these tasks, the participants will have access to real
documents used on previous NASA's missions to the moon, the robotic
mission to Mars or Orion's mission.
PHASE 2
EXPERIENCE A WEEK
AS A NASA ASTRONAUT!
These are some of the activities you will attend during the IASP 2019
Train like an astronauton the 1/6th Gravity Chair and the Multi-Axis Trainer.
Discover the role the Inter-national Space Station plays in our global community
Experience neutralbuoyancy
While SCUBA diving in the Underwater Astronaut Trainer.
Defining the Mission Objectives
Complete your own piloting experienceLearn about aircraft operations and train for your own flight.
Take a behind the scenes look at the maintenance and engineering of the
aircraft and the support roles required in the aviation industry
Prepare for every contingency as you goto Mars on an extended-duration
mission simulation!
2 Stage Rocket constructions: Participants will build and launch a two-stage rocket.
Students must decide how to create a robotic rover based on a given set of parameters and tasks that the rover must accomplish
The MISSE Flight Facility is a commercial space expo-sure test facility that provides routine access to the or-bital environment to test and validate new technologies and materials.
