Argos Coaters feature a very unique and easy operating platform with low maintenance and minimal use of consumables; this production machine is one of the most attractive alternatives to non-environmental friendly and costly plastic lamination.
Compared to other UV coaters with open lamp systems, varnish consumption is around 20 grams per square meter, the Argos Cold UV and LED coaters consume only 2 grams per square meter of varnish, thereby cutting running costs, helped by the “flash” LED mode or unique “cold” UV lamp system, only activating the lamps when documents are running through the machine.
Thanks to these parameters, Argos Flat Coating machines have the lowest production cost per page in the industry today.
The Argos patent pending coating technology features an innovative vacuum timing-belt, resulting in photo-quality finished products.

Cold UV Lamp System
The Argos Cold UV lamp system avoids heat radiation in direct contact with the media.The Cold UV cassette system is a completely encapsulated lamp, which uses constantly PLC driven cooling technology.
The temperature of the entire cold lamp cassette, as well as the heat transfer to the media doesn’t reach more than 30° Celsius or 86° Fahrenheit. A quartz filter prevents direct contact between the lamp and media, filtering out the IR heat radiation of the lamp, resulting in a slightly warm, odorless coated paper.
The intelligent sleep mode function between jobs attributes to substantial Savings on the electricity bill. And the unique sheet tracking system sensor provides the highest safety standards, eliminating media burns while constantly tracking media throughput.
Wax Based Toners Optional Kit
Wax toner printing systems change the surface tension of the printed surface in such a way that document finishing becomes complex. Not for Argos Coaters, we use a special IR lamp system with borosilicate tempered glass between the IR lamp and the media. This glass and the unique cooling system avoid media burns.
The unique IR lamp system is a requisite for typical wax based toner printers such as; all Ricoh, Canon, Xerox and Konica Minolta printers as well as for the Fuji Film Inkjet & Jetpress 720 printers.
Argos Flat Coaters can operate without IR for prints coming from Canon i300 inkjet presses, Xerox Brenva and Xerox iGen presses.
Output from roll feed solutions (after cutting) such as Xeikon toner based, Xeikon inkjet, Screen Truejet & Ricoh VC60000 printers, all without using IR.
