ABOUT NESIt was in the year 1967, a group of Philanthropic People, Senior Doctors, Peoples Representatives and well meaning Citizens of Guntur have realized the Inadequacy of general and professional educational facilities in Guntur and reacted positively for the establishment of several such institutions under the umbrella of Nagarjuna Education Society. Nagarjuna Education Society (NES) with a vision of promoting education, literature and the culture of the region has established eight reputed Institutions from school education level to professional education. The will and preservance of the founding fathers for over the last forty years has made the city of Guntur an educational destination of Andhra Pradesh. NES, today is the leader and mentor for numerous other educational societies that subsequently came into existence. Sri Jagarlamudi Chandramouli, Dr. Kasaraneni Sadasiva Rao, Dr.Kondabolu Basavapunnaiah, Dr. Maddineni Gopalkrishna, Vidwan Sri Gogineni Kanakaiah, Sri Chebrolu Hanumaiah and Sri Rayapati Sambasiva Rao are a few popular names that are associated with Nagarjuna Education Society for their unfathomable contribution and commitment which drives the constituent institutions, a land mark for educational excellency.

ABOUT CHIPSNagarjuna Education Society (NES), during the year 2005 had come up with a vision to establish an another professional course in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and came into being, with the name and style Chebrolu Hanumaiah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, popularly known as “CHIPS”, located at Chowdavaram, besides its sister concern institute R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering on the same premises. CHIPS, thus inherited the legacy of NES and had grown as one of the best Pharmaceutical Institutions in India by providing exceptional infrastructural facilities and human resources, which are ahead than the requirements stipulated by various statutory bodies. Today, it offers several UG & PG Courses in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences like B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D & M.Pharmacy with several specializations. Discipline, quality teaching and eminent administration are traditional strengths of NES and thus CHIPS acclaimed by securing excellent results and bagging several top ranks.

FACULTYA good mix of seasoned Professors with well qualified young and dynamic faculty members is a rich source of knowledge and strength to the institute. Out of 38 teaching fraternity with M.Pharmacy qualification, 12 members hold Ph.Ds and rest are in pursuit of higher education. Of these, a few authored text books while a few others are actively involved in exploring various research projects.

LIBRARYThe institution is strengthened with well equipped library having 7820 volumes, 1850 titles, 200 CDs, 55 National & International Journals and an electronic gateway to global e-journal literatures like J-Gate, Inventi and DELNET. The library is fully digitalized and reprographic facilitates for staff and students for their regular academic and research activities.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIESSeveral faculty members and P.G students are actively involved in research activities in thrust areas like improvement of dissolution rate and bioavailability of certain poorly soluble drugs, development of oral controlled drug delivery systems by using newer careers and Analytical method development and validation process for pharmaceuticals. About 250 research papers were published by college faculty members in various reputed National and International Journals.
