Since 1840, Royal Coster Diamonds is known as the most trusted diamond polishing factory in the world. We have cut and polished many famous diamonds for Royals around the globe, such as Queen Victoria, Empress Sisi, and Queen Juliana. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, between the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum, we are a popular hotspot. One of our key values is that we want to educate the public about our beautiful craft. To do so, we created several tours and workshops to learn everything about the mystical world of diamond craftsmanship. These tours vary from a brief (free) guided tour to extensive workshops in which you can become a di-amond expert yourself.

Royal Coster Diamonds is the oldest diamond polishing factory in the world. Since 1840, Royals from all over the world traveled to The Netherlands to see our legendary craftsmanship. And today you can learn why during a private guided tour at the museum square in the heart of Am-sterdam.
Visit our four monumental 19th-century villas and see how we created beauty that lasts for cen-turies. We give private guided tours in which your guide vividly tells you about the history of the precious stones and how Amsterdam became the “City of Diamonds”. You dive into our rich legacy filled with Royal Stories and visitors, like Empress Sisi, the Viceroy of China, King Rama V, Prince Napoleon and many, many more. During the Royal Experience, you will hear how diamonds are formed, cut and polished. You will see our diamond polishers and goldsmiths working their craft up close and personal. You can take a picture of yourself behind a real diamond polishing table and share it with friends and family while you learn how to grade a diamond and why some diamonds sparkle more than others. Your guide takes you to one of our luxurious new showrooms where you can see diamonds in all shapes and sizes including our patented Royal 201; a unique diamond with more sparkle or *fire* than any other diamond in the world. At the end of the tour, you receive a sparkling goody bag to take back home.

To this day, after more than 175 years, our highly experienced craftsmen and -women still create the most beautiful diamond jewelry in history. You can experience the world of dia-monds yourself during this free guided tour at our 19th-century villas in the heart of Amsterdam.
Let our friendly professional guides take you on a trip through the mystical world of diamonds. Learn about the 4 C’s of diamond valuation, the origin of diamonds and about our rich legacy. Did you know, for example, that we polished the Koh-I-Noor for Queen Victoria in 1852? When you’ve learned about diamonds, it is time to see the real thing. Your guide takes you to one of our luxuri-ous new showrooms where you can see diamonds in all shapes and sizes including our patented Royal 201; a unique diamond with more sparkle or *fire* than any other diamond in the world.
Throughout our many years of existence, we had the honor of welcoming royal visitors from all over the world. Guests like Empress Sisi, the Viceroy of China, King Rama V, and many, many more trusted us to forge their diamond jewelry. And so can you.

A diamond is a physical manifestation of love and affection. Our master craftsmen and -women create the most wonderful diamond jewelry and precious diamonds since 1840 for Royal visitors. And now you and your loved one can become a part of that legacy.
This private diamond engagement workshop is for couples who want to learn more about dia-monds or are preparing for an engagement or anniversary. Buying an engagement ring is special and a once in a lifetime event. But if you combine it with learning how to truly appreciate diamonds, this becomes an unforgettable experience. A diamond is a physical manifestation of the feelings of love and affection the giver has for the new owner. To be able to go on a journey that starts millions of years ago and ends on the finger of your loved one, is a remarkable and beautiful experience and makes the final selection of your engage-ment or anniversary ring even more special and adds more meaning... When you and your partner arrive at Royal Coster, you get a host who explains the origins of diamonds. He or she shows you some of the world’s most fascinating diamond artefacts. An experienced diamond polisher shows you how a diamond is polished and you learn how remarkable a diamond actually is. Finally, the guide takes the two of you to a luxurious VIP room where he or she shows you a variety of dia-monds and settings. You can enjoy a glass of champagne and browse through the largest collec-tion of diamonds in Europe.

THE DIAMOND WORKSHOPExperience what it is like to polish a diamond
Are you intrigued by a diamond’s sparkle? Perhaps you already know that the way a diamond is polished influences that sparkle. Our diamond craftsmen and -women have cut and polished the most beautiful diamonds for more than 175 years. And now you can too.
The Diamond Workshop is perfect for everyone who loves diamonds and wants to find out how to polish them. During this workshop, your personal guide first shows you some famous diamond artefacts and explains the origin of diamonds. Your consultant explains the 4 C’s of diamond valu-ation and tells a bit about our rich history. Now you are off to one of our diamond polishers. He or she shows you up close what it means to polish a real diamond and how he or she carefully places the facets. After this explanation, it is your turn to sit at the table and polish a facet on a diamond yourself. The Diamond Workshop is a great diamond experience and perfect for an introduction to the world of diamond craftsmanship. When you are finished polishing, you can see a part of the world’s larg-est diamond collection. Do not forget to take a good look at the facets since you now know what it takes to polish them. In our showroom, you can also purchase a diamond, if you are interested. This workshop does not include keeping the diamond you’ve polished, but you get the ticket price refunded as a discount when you purchase a diamond.

DIAMOND MASTERCLASSPolish your own diamond which - of course - you can keep
Are you interested in learning everything about the craft of diamond polishing and want to polish a diamond yourself as well? Then the Diamond Masterclass at Royal Coster Diamonds is the per-fect experience for you. Our Diamond Masterclass is given exclusively by the head of our diamond polishing department. She will give you an in-depth masterclass that ends – if you do it correctly – with an official certificate.
This highly exclusive workshop is only for 1 or 2 persons at a time. You’re welcomed by the head of our diamond polishing department, Mrs. Pauline Willemse. Mrs. Willemse starts the workshop with a private tour through the Diamond Museum. She tells you everything there is to know about the origin of diamonds and show you some amazing diamond artefacts. After the museum tour, it’s time to sit down at the polishing table with Mrs. Willemse. She explains about the (protected) craft of diamond polishing and the 4 C’s of diamond valuation. After her explanation, it is time to polish your own diamond. While you are polishing, Pauline gives you tips and feedback so you will polish your diamond per-fectly. Of course, you can keep this diamond when you are done. After the workshop you see an amazing collection of set and unset diamonds in a private showroom. In the showroom you can apply your newfound diamond knowledge to these stones. Here you also have the possibility to buy a diamond or a setting for the diamond you just polished. When you completed the workshop successfully, you also receive an official Royal Coster Diamonds certificate.

CHAMPAGNE SURPRISEA fun and engaging group experience
The Champagne Surprise Tour is something we get asked for a lot at Royal Coster Diamonds by companies or exclusive parties such as galas and premiers. It’s a fun and informative experience and one of the guests goes home with a real diamond.
Every guest gets a glass of champagne. In each glass, we have placed a real diamond or a cubic zirconia (an imitation diamond). Nobody can see the difference between a real diamond and the zirconia, so we have one of our master polishers with a diamond loupe to check each stone. He or she determines which stones are fake and which one is the real diamond. Of course, only a few (or one) of the stones are real diamonds. But the guests can, of course, also keep the zirconia as a beautiful memento of the entire evening. While the diamond polisher checks the diamond, he explains a bit about the process of recognizing a real or a fake diamond. If people have questions about their own jewelry, they will be answered in a discreet and fun manner. This event is often done in the evening at a venue of your choosing, which is not a problem. The cost depends on your wishes. At our premises the costs will be:
