vPlane™ Brocade’s vPlane architecture delivers unprecedented performance by utilizing the Intel DPDK to separate the router’s control plane from its forwarding plane. Isolating forwarding on individual x86 cores eliminates resource contention while also leveraging vPlane’s new high-speed packet pipeline architecture.

Network Connectivity At the core of the Brocade Vyatta vRouter is a powerful routing engine with full support for IPv4 and IPv6 dynamic routing protocols (BGP Multipath, OSPFv2 & v3, RIP), Multicast, Policy Based Routing (PBR), NAT and DHCP. Vyatta vRouter systems include support for a variety of 10/100 thru 10 GB Ethernet NICs.

Firewall Protection The system’s firewall features robust IPv4/IPv6 stateful packet inspection to intercept and inspect network activity and protect critical data.

Secure Connectivity Establish secure site-to-site VPN tunnels with standards-based IPsec VPN between two or more systems or any IPsec VPN device. Or provide secure network access to remote users via SSL-based OpenVPN functionality. Dynamic Multipoint VPN now available.

Save Power, Weight and Space Eliminate single purpose hardware from the mission. Routing, firewall and VPN can all be provided as a VM on existing servers.

Traffic Management The Brocade Vyatta vRouter provides a variety of QoS queuing mechanisms that can be applied to inbound traffic and outbound traffic for identifying and prioritizing applications and traffic flows.

High Availability Mission critical networks can deploy the Brocade Vyatta vRouter with the confidence that high availability and system redundancy can be achieved through an industry standard failover and synchronization mechanisms.

IPv6 Compatibility The Brocade Vyatta vRouter is the only software-based routing and security solution with proven IPv6 functionality and interoperability, ensuring a future-proof investment in a solution that offers a simplified migration path from IPv4 to IPv6.

Administration & Authentication Brocade’s Vyatta vRouters can be managed through our familiar network-centric command line interface, web-based GUI or through external management systems using Vyatta’s Remote Access API. All network management sessions can be securely managed using SSHv2, RADIUS or TACACS+.

Monitoring and Reporting

The Brocade Vyatta vRouter provides logging and diagnostics information that can be monitored using in industry standard tools.
