Mbps – Megabits per second.
ms – Milliseconds.
Latency - measures the ‘’delay’’ time from the moment you click a command to the time when a transfer of data begins.
ADSL – Asymmetric Digital Subscriber LineBroadband that is provided via telephone lines. ADSL provides a high-quality, reliable connection but if you’re far away from the telephone exchange, or if cabling is degraded, speeds can start to drop.
FTTC – Fibre to the CabinetA combination of fibre optic cable and copper cable running from a local telephone exchange to a distribution point or “roadside cabinet”. From this distribution point, a standard copper-based telephone line is used to deliver broadband to the premises.
FTTP – Fibre to the PremisesFibre optic cabling that runs directly from a local telephone exchange directly to the premises delivering speeds of up to 40 times faster than copper-based broadband.
