• Since 1964 part of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science: Department of automatic computers

• 1990: Department of Computer Science and Engineering

• 1993: separation of study programmes from Faculty of Electrical Engineering

• 2002: Launch of an independent Faculty of Information Technology (FIT)Brno University of Technology, CZ
