Whilst “Liability Cover” can be purchased from a Third Party* to protect you from the cost of any liability in case of damage, it does not directly release you from the liability associated with hiring a Britz vehicle.It is a mandatory requirement for you to accept liability directly with Britz by way of a Security Deposit to cover the Standard Liability applicable to the Britz vehicle hired. All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. The hirer is responsible for the first AU$7,500 (“the liability”) of the cost of the damage to the third party property or rented vehicle.

For campervan and 4WD hire, please note that the AU$7,500 security deposit is debited upon collection of the vehicle. In case of vehicle or property damage, part or all of the Security Deposit will be retained, however you can seek reimbursement from the third party* from whom you purchased the Liability cover insurance.

Liability can be reduced by the purchase of one of our Liability Reduction Options (see overleaf).

Please note: *Daily rate is capped at 50 days. Where nil liability is present you are covered for single vehicle damage (except single vehicle rollover), third party accident and cost on repair/replacement of unlimited windscreen and tyres. In Australia it is not compulsory for drivers to have private insurance on their own vehicles. Any breach of the exclusions will render all cover void. Valid from 01 April 2013 - 31 March 2014.

2WD Additional Protection Coverage

Talk to us about Additional Protection Coverage, available with LR2 and the Bonus Pack, which extends the cover to include the cost of damage resulting from a single vehicle roll over. Available for a one-off fee of $99 per hire.

4WD Easy Cover Plus Option (4WD EASY)

Ask about our 4WD Easy Cover Plus option which extends the cover available to include a NIL liability, cover for accidental damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the 4WD, cover for single vehicle roll over damage, unlimited tyre and windscreen cover and towing and vehicle recovery costs from 4WD roads where permission from Britz is required to travel in advance. 4WD Easy Cover Plus is a one-off fee of $350 per hire.

Standard LiabilityEvery rental is automatically insured for damage to the vehicle and to the property of a Third Party, with a Liability and Bond of AU$7,500 for campervans and 4WDs which applies to each or any incident and not for the entire length of rental. This Bond will be debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected and then refunded at time of check-in, provided the vehicle is returned undamaged.
