Its vast content spans over an impressive c.56,000 pages

Their unashamedly commercial strategies and solutions are truly innovative and have successfully driven awareness, engagement, participation and revenue for both new and existing revenue streams.

Skylab and British Swimming have shared a long term partnership since 2009, acting as the organisation’s ‘digital guardians’ and long term digital partner. This partnership has raised the organisation’s online presence and helped British Swimming deliver the London 2012 legacy as well as working towards shaping their future.

Key to this partnership is working alongside the organisation’s key sponsor, British Gas and the provision of a scalable platform which can continue to support one of largest growing events in the swimming calendar. The 2012 British Gas Swimming Championships. Skylab delivered a vision that focused on the athletes, inviting swimming fans to get up close and personal with their favourite swimming stars.

The Locker Room: A high impact, interactive microsite that delivers stats, facts and personal information about the stars, including athlete blogs and Q&A sessions. Additionally, visitors were encouraged to relive the past glories in a dedicated video archive, delivered by Skylab’s innovative video platform MediaTank.

Barry Wade, Web manager, British Swimming

comments…“The response to the microsite has been phenomenal. The microsite has really helped us bring this event to life and engage with more swim fans across the country.”

Pool finder: Had one objective, to create awareness for local pools and drive participation, therefore improving the health of those that do swim and encouragement to those who are yet to engage in this activity.

MySwimming: Is an innovative personalised dashboard that pulls content from across the site, where the user can tailor their ‘swimming’ experience according to their interests. Behavioural monitoring and reporting allows the organisation to better understand the needs of the user and therefore serve better content. Providing commercial opportunities for the organisation and exposing events and activities to the end user at the same time.

Our approach to digital strategy and the ambition of the team cements the drive and motivation required to continually support the NGB over the next 3 years and beyond. Skylab strive to seek out new and innovative ways to help increase awareness and participation, whilst identifying further revenue

streams to support the organisation as a whole.

Jane Nickerson, COO, ASA and British Swimming comments…“Their unashamedly commercial strategies and solutions are truly innovative and have successfully driven awareness, engagement, participation and revenue for both new and existing revenue streams.

The results have been transformational both for British Swimming and for our sponsors. For example, Skylab have created a 56,000 page website, now managed by a team of up to 75 contributors, that regularly serves over 1.7 million pages per month to over 600,000 visitors. They have helped to grow our traffic by over 10 times since launch. Apart from creating the award winning SwimFit application, Skylab have created one of the best, if not the best, online resource for swimming information in the world.

As a result, we are currently in the process of extending the relationship, signing a further 3 year term and I am delighted to offer a whole hearted recommendation for their services to any organisation.
