This hands-on workshop for massage therapists will teach you a wide range of shiatsu and acupressure sequences that are particularly well suited for the massage chair. By helping you weave these techniques into your current chair massage routine, this workshop will help you develop a more diverse, ergonomic, and effective treatment style. You will: Learn and practice a chair massage routine that integrates a variety of shiatsu and acupressure techniques; Apply traditional eastern body mechanics to give chair massage with greater ease and less risk of injury; Practice integrating shiatsu into your chair massage routine for addressing hard-to- resolve conditions such as migraine, frozen shoulder, chronic anxiety, and other ailments; Learn how to apply traditional Chinese medicine and zen shiatsu diagnostic principles to inform and enhance your treatment plans. About the Presenter About the Presenter About the Presenter About the Presenter Karlo Berger has practiced shiatsu for the massage chair and mat shiatsu at Harvard University Health Services since 1998, and maintains a private practice in Providence, RI. He is an adjunct professor in the therapeutic massage program at the Community College of Rhode Island in Newport, RI. He is a certified professional member of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia, and is founder of the Integrative Medicine Alliance, a Boston-based non-profit dedicated to building bridges between healing professions. Massage chairs are available for use if you do not have one. Headrest covers and course materials are provided at no additional charge.
