What is Civil View? Civil View is a plug-in developed for Civil 3D and
3ds Max Design. The plug-in allows Civil 3D data to be imported into 3ds Max Design for the creation of realistic renderings and animations.
Importing Civil 3D Geometry Civil data is first exported from Civil 3D in a .vsp3d file
format. The vsp data is then imported into 3ds Max Design. The import panel allows for the control of what data the user wants to import from the vsp file.
Draping the Aerial Image Civil View allows for the import of aerial
image data along with its accompanying world file.
Creating Bridges Bridges are created in Civil View as swept 3D
objects. Easy to use tools within the Civil View interface make this a seamless process.
Road Markings The addition of road markings also takes place
within the Civil View plug-in. Many different types of road markings are available.
Streetlights and Signs A wide range of streetlights and signs are available
within the Civil View plug-in. Streetlights and signs give that added touch of photorealism.
Traffic Civil View allows users to quickly add a wide range of
vehicles to the scene. Within a few minutes two-way traffic can be inserted and animated.
Adding Cameras Civil View allows the user to create cameras that
animate themselves driving down your roadways. Path constraint animations have never been easier to created thanks to Civil View.
Rendering Output 3ds Max Design 2013 can create a wide range of rendering
output. Animations can be rendered as Windows movie files or to single rendered images which can be composited into an animation at a later date.
Animation Example Below is an example of a sample animation
rendered with the help of Civil View 2013.
