PRB0052049Certain formatting options used in Microsoft Word do not display properly in Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS:

Page breaks don't work consistently.

Middle aligned text containing page breaks on the same line are pushed to the side rather than being centered.

Floating objects, such as text boxes and shapes, with strange anchor locations can push objects with the same anchor to other positions.

Floating objects, such as text boxes, can move to different locations, causing overlapped text

Tabs are not systematically agreed upon. Some tabbed columns are offset from the rest.

PRB0050497If a learner has multiple first names, or spaces within their first name, it can cause names to appear out of alphabetical order in Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS.

Found in Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS 2.1.2.

To reproduce this issue:

1. Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment as an administrator.

2. Access a test course with an instructor and multiple learners enrolled.

3. On the navbar, select Classlist.

4. Click Add Participants, and select Create and enroll a new user.

5. Enter a first name that contains a space, e.g. Mary Ann.

6. Enter a last name and Org Defined ID.

7. Set their Role to Learner, and click Enroll.

8. On the navbar, select Assignments and click New Submission Folder.



9. Enter a name and click Save and Close.

10. Return to the Classlist and impersonate the learner created in the previous steps.

11. Upload a file to the assignment submission folder created in the previous steps.

12. Use the instructor credentials to log in to Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS.

13. Select the course and submission folder that you submitted a file to.

14. Observe that there are no commas between learner first and last names and names are not in alphabetical order.

PRB0051536Rubrics are ordered incorrectly in Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS when their levels are re-ordered in Brightspace Learning Environment.



1. Access a test course with a learner and instructor enrolled.

2. On the navbar select Course Admin, and click Rubrics.

3. Click New Rubric, enter a name, set the rubric status to published, and click the Levels and Criteria tab.

4. Edit Level 4, change its name to Level 3, change its score to 5 points, and click Save.

5. Edit Level 3, change its name to Level 4, change its score to 7 points, and click Save.

6. Observe that the new Level 4 displays on the left of the table as it is worth the most points.

7. Create a new assignment submission folder and associate the rubric with it.

8. Impersonate a learner from the Classlist and upload a file to the assignment submission folder.


10. Locate the course and submission folder that the file was uploaded to.

11. Select the learner's submission, and click Evaluate.

12. Observe that the rubric levels are out of order, Level 3 appears to the left of Level 4.

PRB0051506If an instructor provides annotations on a submission, and then moves to another submission or returns to the list of assignment submission folders, their original annotations save to a PDF file and any additional annotations save to a second PDF file. This can cause annotations to save across multiple files instead of a single file.





1. Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment and access a test course with an instructor and a learner enrolled.

2. On the navbar, select Assignments, and create an assignment submission folder.

3. Access the classlist, impersonate the learner, and submit a file to the submission folder created in the previous steps.

4. Log in to the Assignment Grader application with the instructor's EduDentity credentials.

5. Select the test course, and open the assignment submission folder.

6. Open the submission you uploaded in the previous steps.

7. Add annotated feedback and then click the Back button.

8. Return to the learner submission and observe that the annotations are not visible, they have been added as an attachment in the feedback area.

9. Provide additional annotations to the document and click the Back button.

10. Return to the learner submission and observe that the second set of annotations are not visible.

11. Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment with the instructor credentials.

12. Access the test course and locate the submission you annotated.

13. Observe that there are two files of annotations attached as feedback.

PRB0051515If an instructor is enrolled in a group that submits a file to a group assignment submission folder, after completing feedback in the application, the Feedback Read status is updated in the Assignments tool.



1. Create a new testing course and enroll a learner and instructor.

2. Access the course, create a group, and enroll the learner and instructor into the group.

3. Create a group submission folder in the Assignments tool, and associated it with the group created in the previous step.

4. Impersonate the learner and submit a file to the Assignment submission folder.


6. Select the course and submission folder that you uploaded the file to.

7. Open the document, add some annotations and feedback, and click Done.

8. Click Groups to return to the list of submitted assignments.

9. Observe that your feedback is In-Draft.



10. In the application, go to the page displaying the submission folders for the test course, and swipe down to force a sync.

11. Return to the Assignments tool in Brightspace Learning Environment and refresh the page.

12. Observe that the Feedback Read status is updated; this occurs because the instructor is a member of the group that submitted the assignment.

PRB0054118Accessing rubrics from Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS that contain fewer overall score levels than rubric levels causes the application to close.



1. Access a test course with learners and an instructor enrolled.

2. On the navbar, select Assignments.

3. Click New Submission Folder, enter a name, and click Create Rubric in New Window.

4. Enter a name for the rubric, set the status to published, and ensure there are 4 levels and 3 criteria.

5. Click Levels and Criteria, open the context menu in the Overall Score row for Level 4, 3, and 2, and select Delete Level for each one.

6. The Overall Score row should now contain only Level 1.

7. Close the rubric window and click Add Rubric.

8. Select the rubric you created in the previous steps, click Add Selected, and then Save and Close.

9. Access the Classlist, impersonate a learner, and submit a file to the assignment submission folder you created in the previous steps.

10. Log in to Brightspace Assignment Grader for iOS with the instructor's credentials.

11. Select the course and submission folder with the attached rubric.

12. Open the submission you made while impersonating the learner, and click on the Rubric.

13. Select a few of the available criteria and observe that the application closes.
