ANSIBLE MODULE
4 ©BRIGHT COMPUTING PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
Bright is providing an integration with Ansible in the Bright Cluster Manager 9.1 release that allows an administrator to build and manage a Bright Clusters using an Ansible playbook
ANSIBLE MODULE
Infrastructure as code approach to configure clusters
Roll out changes to large numbers of
Bright clusters
Parallel upgrades: configure the new head node quickly and identically to their production
cluster
Disaster Recovery (DR): quickly
redeploy a new cluster based upon
an existing production cluster in the event of a
disasterOrganizations that have standardized on Ansible gain the power and flexibility that Bright Cluster Manager provides

CLUSTER AS A SERVICE FOR VMWARE
6 ©BRIGHT COMPUTING PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
Bright Cluster Manager 9.1 provides an integration with vSphere that allows high-performance clusters to be created and managed without the need for skills and knowledge of vSphere.
CLUSTER-AS-A-SERVICE FOR VMWARE
Organizations can fully utilize their vSphere infrastructure saving money, accelerating innovation, and increasing the capacity of their HPC infrastructure
Utilizing vSphere capacity for high-performance requirements reduces the need to use public cloud infrastructure
Fully utilize your vSphere infrastructure 24x7x365

OPENSHIFT INTEGRATION
8 ©BRIGHT COMPUTING PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
In Bright Cluster Manager 9.1 we are providing an integration with OpenShift that allows organizations to create OpenShift deployments on their Bright clusters
OPENSHIFT INTEGRATION
Gain increased capabilities, flexibility, and extensibility provided by Bright Cluster Manager
Organizations that are using Bright to manage
other clusters throughout their business - from
edge-to-core-to-cloud - can leverage that expertise to manage their OpenShift infrastructure

AUTO-SCALING ENHANCEMENTS
10 ©BRIGHT COMPUTING PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
Bright Cluster Manager 9.1 includes enhancements to auto-scaling that improve performance, provide more granular control and improved ease of use.
AUTO-SCALING ENHANCEMENTS
Faster reallocation and re-purposing of nodes that share a common software image
Ability to control and prioritize which cluster resources can be used by different jobs
Ability to leverage priorities and job resource requirements from workload managers to determine node allocations
Easier setup of auto scaling via a wizard

Redfish
Pluggable framework for server models
More secure than IPMI
Scalable to thousands or tens
of thousands of nodes
Supports all types of servers
Provides RESTful interface
Bright Cluster Manager 9.1 is introducing support for Redfish BIOS management
REDFISH AUTOMATED BIOS MANAGEMENT
Bright administrators can view and change the BIOS of all cluster nodes that support Redfish from CMSH and Bright View

OFFLOADABLEMONITORING
20 ©BRIGHT COMPUTING PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
In Bright Cluster Manager 9.1, the cluster monitoring function for the entire system can be “offloaded” from the system’s head node to a set of dedicated servers that perform system monitoring exclusively
OFFLOADABLE MONITORING
H1 H2 M1 M2 M3
N*N5N4N3N1 N2
Bright Cluster Manager can build and manage clusters of 50,000 to 100,000 nodes depending on how many dedicated monitoring nodes are used
Frees the head node to perform its other duties and allows the system to continue scaling
If a dedicated monitoring node fails, the
remaining monitoring nodes will take over
monitoring the orphaned compute nodes
until the failed monitoring node is reinstated
