The Department of Trade and Industry is providing support to cooperatives, albeit at insufficient levels to make a substantial required impact.National and Provincial Departments have started to seriously support cooperatives in their spheres of influence. However, the support is still at a lower base. Few municipalities have already started to also contribute to the task of supporting cooperatives. However, this areas still requires further attention and strengthening.
