All the monies raised this evening will help us continue our work of helping those in our community who are struggling financially because of their battle with breast cancer. It is because of your generosity, the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our team of volunteers, that our mission continues. Enjoy the evening!

To date this year, Dance for the Cure, founded in 1998 after my own diag-nosis of breast cancer, has donated to
over 50 individuals who are affected finan-cially due to their diagnosis and treatment for cancer. Not only are they facing physi-cal and emotional challenges, but are also faced with the daily pressure of mounting bills while they are unable to work. Because of the generous support of our community, Dance for the Cure is able to make the burden a little lighter for these people, in addition giving hope for their future. Our monetary donation provides some peace of mind that an immediate financial worry will be taken care of.
Joanne Liscovitz, my Co-Founder in Dance for the Cure, oversees every detail in the production of this evening’s lovely event and fundraiser, Ribbons of Hope. Her vision ten years ago to begin this project has grown greater than we ever imagined. To date, Ribbons of Hope has raised over $380,000, all of which goes to local people battling breast cancer. We are ever so grateful to our team of volunteers, from those helping behind the scenes, to our tireless women who create these magical baskets for Ribbons of Hope. Success of this magnitude continues due to the unending support of all involved. This evening we will reflect, honor and celebrate those we love.
-Kathleen Cirioli
Little did I know when I decided to do a “real” fundraiser in 2005, that Ribbons of Hope would still be going
strong ten years later! I am so grateful for our amazing team of volunteers who tirelessly promote our event by soliciting for prizes, shopping all year for just the right items to make impressive baskets and working behind the scenes on our website, program and goody bags. Our efforts have resulted in raising thou-sands of dollars, helping hundreds of cancer patients in our area. While we feel tremen-dous satisfaction from this, the journey to making Ribbons of Hope a success comes with other benefits. We have become a fam-ily committed to our mission. We’ve gotten to know one another; laughed and cried as we each weathered our own storms through the year. If anything, we have gained perspective — we know what is, and is not, a big deal. Battling cancer is a big deal and our labor of love in Ribbons of Hope, eases that burden for those we are able to help.I would especially like to thank Judy Craven who has tirelessly given of her time
and talent to make Basket Central run like a well-oiled machine! With us since we started in 2005, she is one of the most humble, unselfish women I know. I am grateful for her commitment to Ribbons of Hope! She had an amazing crew in Teri Halvorson, Lisa Scalera and Arleen Korn-bluth who spent day and night at basket central for the past two months to bring our basket visions to life.A big thank you to our basket visionaries, Ronnie Nolan, Kathy Marshall and Arleen Kornbluth who conjur up ideas and goods to create the masterpieces displayed tonight. I also have to thank my assistant, Dani-elle Mc Crea, whom I feel so fortunate to have by my side. She has enthusiastically embraced Ribbons of Hope and the tasks that go with it. I would not be in one piece without her! Finally, thank you to our generous donors and to all of you for attending and support-ing this event. Here’s to another ten years of Ribbons of Hope!

Go And Get Your MammogramGo and get your mammogram You can get one free Take good care of yourself You’ll be cancer-free
Shuffle off to Buffalo Timesteps in between We’re tapping today & we’re here to say Sieze your destiny
You’ve gotta eat Tofu, ooh, ooh Soy and beans, ooh, ooh Lots of greens, ooh, ooh You’re on your way to stay healthy and happy
Don’t forget your self-exam Do it carefully Take good care of your health You’ll be cancer-free
I BelieveI believe for every drop of rain that falls A flower grows, I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, A candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray Someone will come to show the way. I believe, Oh, I believe. Oh, I believe.
I believe above the storm The smallest prayer, will still be heard. I believe that someone in that great somewhere, Hears every word
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, Or touch a leaf, Or see the sky, Then I know why I believe.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, Or touch a leaf, Or see the sky, Then I know why I believe. I believe.
