Tips From The ProTechnology Makes It Easier
The best players and coaches in the game utilize technology. (See the TrackMan units in the picture below.) The main reason players use this technology is because it makes maintaining their game way easier. The coaches use it for the same reason….simplicity. For instance: TrackMan measures what the club and ball are doing. (Which is really the only thing that matters.) It doesn’t care how the body got the club to the ball, which is great because individual styles are almost limitless. On the other hand there is a much smaller spectrum of club/ball interaction that will produce desired outcomes. Trackman easily tells us if something is workable or not. I like easy and you will too!

We will help you! Whether you are new to the game or have been playing for a while The Academy instructors can help you play better and make your time on the course even more enjoyable. We can also help you make informed decisions with your equipment.

Ping & CallawayFitting System
BridgeMill is now an official Callaway Fitting Center. We also remain a Ping Fitting Center. So with two great fitting systems from two great companies and being able to see the golf ball and measure with TrackMan, now your new clubs might actually help you play better! Also, with the recent addition of Chad Phillips to our staff we have two outstanding clubfitters in Tom Losinger and Chad Phillips.
Also, BridgeMill Golf Academy was recently recognized by Golf Digest as an outstanding club fitting facility and staff.
TechnologyMakes Golf Easier
If you have never experienced TrackMan please take the time to visit the BridgeMill Golf Academy and just ask us to try it out. We use it everyday in almost every lesson to help our students play better just like Dustin Johnson has used it to become the #1 Player in the world. “Try it, you’ll like it.”
Congratulations to . . . Thaxton Cheyne, (Young man on the left), won a recent U.S. Kids Atlanta Junior Tour event at Mystery Valley in Stone Mountain. Thaxton shot a fine 41 to win the 8 year old division. Fun Stuff!

2017 MGA Masters Results
Masters Gross Champion - Troy Thompson Masters Net Champion - Bill Persichetti
The 2017 MGA Masters is in the books and was a great weekend for golf and fellowship with 63 players grinding it out over two days. Some new faces were on the leaderboard along with some of the usual perennial names on top. Congratulations to our Overall Gross and Net winners - Troy Thompson (Gross 65) and Bill Persichetti (Net 51). In the Gross championship, Troy improved his day 1 score and managed a narrow victory over Kyle Gray (66) and a group of players at 67. There was no contest on this Net side as Bill Persichetti from the 3rd flight on the Blue tees ran over the competition. Tied for the lead after the first day, Bill managed a gross 77 score on Day 2 alone (36 41) for a significant improvement on his 2 day total. Bill may have shot par on day 2 had it not been for doubles on 17 and 18. The next closest player was 6 strokes back with a net 57 - Jeff Webster and a couple others with net 59 - Mark Lentchner and TM Nuckols. Please see below for all the winners.

2017 MGA Masters 2017 MGA Masters Green Jacket and Champions DinnerGreen Jacket and Champions Dinner
The 2017 MGA Masters marks the commitment to two traditions that will be forever linked to the MGA Masters: the MGA Green Jacket for overall winners and the Champions Dinner. Eleven past champions were in attendance and received their MGA Masters Green Jacket. The menu for the champion’s dinner was selected by the 2016 Gross Champion, Justin Campbell. Fun, fellowship, and old golf stories were the highlight of the evening. Though the event honors the champions, it is open to all MGA Members so don’t miss it next year.
Loomis Wins Crystal!Loomis Wins Crystal!
Jeff Loomis was the Member Flight 2 Gross winner in the MGA Masters. So why are we talking about this? Jeff was overheard in March saying “I have played at almost every MGA and BMAC event for many years and I have no glass to show for it.” Well Jeff . . . now you have giant crystal vase to commemorate your MGA Masters performance. Congratulations and we wish you more success in the future!

Scenes from MGA Masters!
LGA News
16 Visit the LGA website at www.bmaclga.com.
The BridgeMill Ladies Golf Association (BMLGA) is socializing, playing golf and having a good time! Thursday April 13th was a Girls Night Out hosted by Debra Smith. There was a putting clinic available followed by a social hour and a delicious chicken Caesar salad prepared by Chef Elliot. Our next social will be this month so if you would like to join us, please contact Debra Smith at 404-353-4211. A GNO is the perfect way to see what our club is all about.
Saturday, May 6th was our Cinco de Putt tournament hosted by Kelly Cook. 16 ladies came out on a very chilly morning to pair up and play a best ball scramble. This was not just any scramble. On #5 we had to putt with croquet mallets and on #12 if your drive did not reach the green each golfer could throw their ball to get it onto the green. If you did reach the green with your tee shot, you got to roll the ball to reach the hole. Neither the throw nor the roll counted so that made for some fierce competition! A fun twist to an otherwise annoying hole for some of us! Afterwards, we met at Las Palmas to enjoy a fajita buffet and a margarita or cold Corona, followed by a blind draw to choose our partners for the awards. 1st place net winners were Liz and Terri. 1st place gross were Char and Sharon. The scores were very close, but 1st place went to the team of Char Bailey, Sharon Moore, Denise Lentchner and Debra Smith. 2nd place winners were Kelly Cook, Val Ward, Liz Gallogly and Terry Johnston. 3rd place went to Cleo Hutchins, Molly Maher, Chris Loomis and Donna O’Connor. Our 4th place winners were Pat Bauer, Pam Pulicari, Jennifer Corinelli and Joyce Gonzenbach. A big thank you to our sponsor, Molly McGrory of ReMax Town and Country Realty! Photos of all winners and some candid shots both on and off the course are below and right.
For information on how to join our club, see the bulletin board in the ladies locker room, or check our our website: www.bmaclga.com OR our facebook page: https://facebook.com/bmaclga. There is a group of ladies that like to play Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening so there is something for everyone with the BridgeMill LGA…come play some golf with us!

Mobility Workout June 10th & 24th, 10:00am
At the Fitness Center
Mobility exercises are a great way to not only improve flexibility but also to optimize physical performance both in and out of the gym. Mobility is simply defined as the degree of freedom of movement around a joint or body segment and is a balance of flexibility, strength, and uninhibited motion. Along with balance and core stability, mobility should be a primary goal of functional movement! This routine is designed to be used as a warm-up for a workout or as a stand-alone to increase range of motion around key joints while enhancing stability where needed. The exercises in this workout will provide non-stop dynamic movement. Please join us for this complimentary workout. RSVP to 770-345-2990.

Scenes from Girls Night Out!
BridgeMill Sixes Service League We would like to extend our appreciation to the golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who participated in our recent GOLF FORE CHARITY tournament. This event was a huge success with 84 golfers and over 45 sponsors with Buzz Ahrens, Chairman, Cherokee County Commission as this year’s honoree. Many thanks to BridgeMill resident, Christian Stevens for opening our tournament with a spectacular parachute jump from a helicopter that circled high above the golf course. Christian leads Operation Santa every year, a veterans charity here in Cherokee County. Go to www.freedomfightersopen.com.Proceeds from the Golf FORE Charity benefit children and families of Cherokee County, but this year they will also contribute to two new charitable organizations: The Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program (in honor of this year’s Honoree Buzz Aherns) and The Sager Strong Foundation (in memory of Craig Sager). The Tennis courts were full of energy with over 50 players who had a great night playing in VOLLEY 4 A CURE’s Round Robin. Players got in the spirit and came in outfits ranging from every decade! Pat Perry kept the night fun AND challenging by switching up players for the three different segments that evening. Tennis Pro Tim honored our players with awards such as Best Tennis Hair, Best Shot of the Night, Best Dressed, Best Poacher and more! Players brought incredible dishes to share, which made for an amazing feast! Thank you to IZZY’s KOUZINA who also donated delicious pizzas for players to enjoy! Several fabulous raffle prizes were donated by community minded local businesses for many lucky winning players! We would like to thank The BridgeMill Tennis Club and all the AWESOME tennis players for supporting the BridgeMill Sixes Service League’s Relay for Life team! Together we made over $2,000.00 at our Volley 4 A Cure event! All proceeds from Volley 4 A Cure go to The American Cancer Society in its fight against Cancer. If you or someone you know has questions about Cancer please call the American Cancer Society at: 1-800-227-2345. Our next business meeting will be Thursday, August 17th. Meanwhile, our members will be busy over the summer making lunches and gathering school supplies for kids in Cherokee County. Parents, this is a GREAT opportunity to get your kids involved in community service! Give us a call and we will get you started: 305-510-5411.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! WWW.BSSL.ORG
