In the changing landscape of legal education, and legal information, law librarians struggle to maintain a perception of relevancy in a system where they have historically been viewed as gatekeepers.

Two Phases: Survey and Interviews• Phase one: Get a pulse on the profession by
surveying both academic law libraries and law school career service units. What services are being offered now? What do career service unit want to receive? What are law librarians willing to offer?
• Phase two: Identify paired institutions and do site visits and interviews to explore current and desired relationships further. Gather more in-depth answers and examples. Explore physical collections. Observe unit interactions. Document relationship of physical locations.

• Develop a set of ‘best practices’ for developing, nurturing, and growing relationships between law libraries and career service units.
• Explore opportunities to use this service model to engage with other integral but underserved units of the law school (e.g. Admissions, Alumni relations, Clinics).
