Softball League: Then & Now

In the early 1900s, the Deming Pump Company started a softball league outside of work hours. This was a tradition that continued for many years where fellow co-workers could unwind and show their competitive side during a weekly softball game.

This year the Crane Pumps & Systems softball team kicked off their league season at the end of August. The team has been practicing and gearing up for a successful season. This annual softball league is a great opportunity to keep the Deming Pump Company tradition alive decades after the first Deming Pump team took the field.

CUSTOMER CORNER E Water Solutions, Inc.

LOCATION:

Redlands, California

WHEN WERE YOU FOUNDED?

"E-Water Solutions was founded June 4th, 2018 by individuals that all worked together at one time for another wholesale distribution company. That wholesale distribution company was purchased in 2017 by a publicly traded pump manufacturer that wanted to vertically integrate their own products through the purchase and enter the wholesale distribution markets. Since their founding, Crane Pumps & Systems recognized that E-Water Solutions would be a great channel partner due to the markets they operate in."

INTERESTING FACTS?

"Collectively E-Water Solutions, Inc. has a total combined experience of 120 years under one roof, providing our customers with an industry leading customer service experience that led to our tag line “A Revolution In Service”. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH CRANE PUMPS & SYSTEMS?

43 Years

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PARTS OF YOUR JOB?

"Some of my favorite parts of my job would be the many challenges and demands of the Material/Planner Scheduler position. It is always a feeling of accomplishment when everything falls into place to ship sales orders on time (or early) to satisfy our customer’s needs. I enjoy helping co-workers solve processes and inventory issues to keep things running smoothly."

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST IMPACTFUL CHANGES YOU’VE WITNESSED DURING YOUR TIME HERE?

"The most impactful thing, of course, would be the computer. I remember when the first terminal was put in our office in Mansfield that 8 people shared! You could only look up information; everything else was manually coded and sent to data processing for key punching!"

WHEN NOT AT WORK WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST IMPACTFUL CHANGES YOU’VE WITNESSED DURING YOUR TIME HERE?

"The technology has changed so much. When I started working we had just gotten our first computer and we had one to share for the whole department, now there is so much information readily available with just typing a few keystrokes. Also the company has grown so much through acquisitions and new product design. I was privileged to visit and learn from Barnes, Weinman, & Deming before they were transitioned into Piqua."

WHEN NOT AT WORK WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

"I enjoy spending time with family, sewing quilts, working on crafts, and tracing my family history through genealogy."
