The Basics….

My Name is Brian Flieck, and I have a resume’.

It looks a little like this…

But those can be pretty boring, and I’d rather not do that to you.

So lets just stick to the facts.

I attended Antonelli Institute, for Graphic Design.

I graduated in 2001 with a degreeIn Commercial Art.

I won best Graphic Design Portfolio of my graduating class.

In the summer of 2000, I started working as an intern for a small internet startup company

Global Sports, Inc.

I worked as a web designer and photography retoucher. It was a great experience and after the internship I knew I wanted to stay with the company.

Shortly after I became a full time employee we changed the name of the company from Global Sports, Inc., to GSI Commerce.

In 2001 I was one of four Production Artists for GSI Commerce’s in-house Photography Studio.

We started small with only a few sports-related websites.

In 2005 I was promoted to Senior Production Artist.

In 2007 I was promoted again, this time to Post Production Manager.

I now manage eight Production Artists.

Our client list grew…a lot…

With growth came knowledge and I soon learned to wear many hats.

Let me explain…

Me:  Okay – I’ll learn Dreamweaver for the website and the style guide, and Flash for the presentation.  No problem.

My Boss: We need a new portfolio, an online style guide, an interactive Flash presentation, and a website.

Me:  Okay, I’ll learn the programming language, PERL.  That will move files and create databases that will allow us to have better reporting.  And, I’ll set it up so it’s all automatic so people can’t make mistakes.  I’ll even make it email everyone so they know it’s working.

My boss: We need to gain efficiency, develop reporting, and stop people from making mistakes!

Me:  Okay, let me see if I can outsource some of the work so we’ll be able to produce more.  I developed a relationship with a group of offshore artists in India who prepped our work for us overnight so when we come to work in the morning, the files from the previous day are easier for us to work.  That made us faster and didn’t cost very much money.

My Boss: We need to go faster, but still produce the same quality product that we create today.

Those are only a few of the things I’ve done for our Photography Studio.

Anyway, back to the story.

In 2009 we pulled away from GSI Commerce and became a separate company.

We grew into a full digital agency

•Photo Studio•Web Designer/Graphic Designers•Marketing•SEO/Social Networking•Web Development•Client Services

I helped grow the Photography Studio from an 8-person operation in 2001….

….to a 40 person team in 2010.
