Yesterday’s Record 1-2 - Overall Record 16-26News & Notes

Player of the DayYesterday’s (unofficial) organizational player of the day was Sky Sox infielder Luis Sardinas. The Venezuelan native went 2-for-5 with a R, RBI and 2B in Colorado Springs’ 11-5 loss at Nashville. Sardinas has hit safely in all but two of his 11 games this season.

Roster MovesC Jonathan Lucroy has been placed on the 15-day DL effective 4/21 (fractured left toe). C Juan Centeno was recalled from Colorado Springs and join the Brewers today.

Hitting the Dustin Trail3B Dustin DeMuth leads the Midwest League and is third in the Brewers organization with a .417 (15-36) average. He is tied for third in the ML in OBP with a .500 mark. DeMuth has hit safely in all but three games this season.

Rivera of Dreams2B Yadiel Rivera collected his third multi-hit game of the season on Sunday. He is batting .423 (11-26) with a .483 OBP, 3 R, 3 2B, 3B, HR, 3 BB, SB and 5 RBI. He is on a seven game hitting streak and has reached base in all eight games this year. Rivera’s .423 average leads the Brewers organization.

Springs AwakeningINF Elian Herrera has safely reached base in every game this season and has collected a hit in all but two games. He is batting .422 (19-45) with 11 R, 4 2B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 2 SB and 7 BB. His is tied for first in the Pacific Coast League in on-base percentage (.500), third in average (.422) and tied for second in runs (12).

Arcia Is OnSS Orlando Arcia has reached base safely in every game this season. He is batting .393 (11-28) with 6 R, 2 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, SB and 5 BB through his first nine games in the Southern League. He owns a .393/.485/.536 slash line and is fifth in the organization and sixth the Southern League in average. Arcia leads the SL in lowest PA/SO ratio with a 17.00 rate (34pa, 2k).

The Sky Sox squandered a 5-0 lead and fell to the Nashville Sounds, 11-5. Starter RHP Taylor Jungmann was solid through his first four innings, before allowing four earned runs in the fifth inning. RHP David Goforth suffered the loss, allowing 3 ER in his 1.2 IP. DH Nevin Ashley led the team, going 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Colorado Springs Sky Sox - Pacific Coast League (American Northern) 4th, 3-8, 5.5 GB

The Rookie-level affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers will begin their season on Thursday, June 18 when they host the Missoula Osprey at 8:05 p.m. CT. The team will be managed by Tony Diggs who is joined by Coach Jason Dubois and Pitching Coach Rolando Valles.

Helena Brewers - Pioneer League (Northern Division) T-1st, 0-0

The Arizona Brewers will begin their 2015 campaign later this year. They are managed by Nestor Corredor who returns for his third season. He is joined by Pitching Coach Steve Cline and Coach Al LeBoeuf.

The Dominican Summer League affiliate of the Brewers will begin their season later this year. They are managed by Jose Pena, who returns for his third season at the helm. He is joined by Pitching Coach Geraldo Obispo, Pitching Coach Jose Ramos, Coach Luis De Los Santos, Coach Victor Estevez and Coach Joan Abreu.

The Shuckers first game as a “home” team in franchise history was rained out on Monday. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games on Tuesday. The first game is set to begin at 4:35 p.m.

The Timber Rattlers split a twin bill with the Peoria Chiefs on Monday. Wisconsin won the first game, 4-2, before falling 3-2 in the second contest. DH Dustin DeMuth led the way in game one, knocking a 2 RBI single in the third inning. RHP Cy Sneed took his first loss in game two, allowing 3 R/2 ER on 6 H with a BB and 6 K in 4.2 IP.
