1 TMMC Healthcare launched “Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Screening Month” campaign To advocate WTO’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, TMMC Healthcare has conducted a series of seminar on Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Screening throughout its subsidiaries all over Vietnam. According to statistics provided by medical organizations in Vietnam and the world over, Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer are the two most common cancers in women. In response to countless concerns about these diseases, TMMC Healthcare has organized a series of informative seminar on “Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Screening” throughout 4 subsidiaries: Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital (Oct 10 th – 12 th ), Tam Tri Sai Gon Polyclinic (Oct 30 th ), Tam Tri Sai Gon General Hospital (Nov 1 th – 2 nd ) Tam tri Dong Thap General Hospital (Oct 31 st – Nov 11 th ) and Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital (Nov 7 th – 9 th ). During the seminars, Dr. Vo Dang Hung, MD Ph.D, a leading expert on Oncology in the country, will disseminate useful and practical information about Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer along with their most effective methods of treatment. Recently, the seminar taking place at Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital (Khanh Hoa Province) attracted over 150 guests. Plenty of inquiries were raised concerning the early detection of Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer. According to Dr. Vo Dang Hung, thanks to the advanced technology, these diseases can be cured if early detected. The cure rate is as high as 90%. “In order to detect and prevent these conditions, women should perform self- examination 10 days after their period. If you feel a lump that doesn’t hurt or hurts a little, you shall visit your doctor. Besides, it is advisable to have breast ultrasound once a year and mammography three times a year. Also, to prevent cervical cancer, you should have gynecological examinations once every 6 months as well as Pap smear. Children and women between the age of 9 and 26 should get HVP vaccine to prevent cervical cancer.” – said Dr. Hung. The next seminars will be held throughout the subsidiaries of TMMC Healthcare.
