National Volunteer Appreciation Week is April 10-16th!!!
Club members take a few minutes at your next club meeting to
let your adult volunteers know how much they are appreciated.
National Volunteer theme is “Volunteers are part of the ripple
effect” “Volunteer action is like a stone thrown in a lake: its ef-
fect has a direct impact. At the same time, like ripples, volun-
teer efforts reach out far and wide to improve communities.
Thank you for improving your Head, Heart, Hands and Health
for your club community country and world!
The County Extension office will be celebrating all of our volunteers by hosting a pic-
nic on April 7, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brazoria Environmental Educa-
tion Station (BEES) at 799 E. Hospital Drive in Angleton. RSVP to jenniferf@brazoria-
county.com. Please come and feel free to bring a guest to help us celebrate with you!
Hotdogs and Hamburgers will be served so come hungry.
The 4-H office will be closed on
April 21st in observance of San Jacin-
to Day. Did you know?... The bat-
tle of San Jacinto was fought on April
21, 1836? This battle paved the way
for Texas to become a sovereign na-
tion and took place in our own back
yards. Visit the San Jacinto museum
of history’s website and find group
rates for a club adventure or as a
family outing to La Porte.
San Jacinto Day The Tractor Supply Store Spring Clover
Campaign will be April 13th – April
24th. Brazoria County 4-H has received
over $500 from the Alvin and Lake Jackson
stores for each of the past campaigns.
Clubs are needed to set up a promotional
table at the stores. Contact the TSC store
in Alvin or Lake Jackson to schedule a date
and time, and then contact the 4-H office
to get banners, brochures, and promotional
items.
