The holidays are here and there are so many ways to experience their cheer! Whether you celebrate

Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza or some combination of ethnic and religious traditions, northern Colorado is home to many tried and true favorite holiday activities you won’t want to miss.

Kick off the season the weekend after Thanksgiving by traveling to Estes Park to enjoy the Catch the Glow Parade and Weekend Celebration. The parade features lighted floats and other glowing, festive displays. Other weekend activities include the arrival of Santa, hayrides and shopping in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains.

If you enjoy fine dining and the-ater combined, make plans to enjoy A

Christmas Carol at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse. Enjoy a special pro-duction of this classic Charles Dickens tale about Scrooge, Tiny Tim and all the ghosts who have lessons from which all can learn. It will run from Novem-ber 27 through the end of December.

Another classic tale, which will be presented on The Lincoln Center’s main stage, is The Nutcracker. The Canyon Concert Ballet annually brings this holiday favorite to life through beautiful dancers donned in beauti-ful costumes. Sugarplums are sure to dance in your head after enjoying a night at this ballet.

And the holidays wouldn’t be complete without hearing familiar mu-sic and songs. The Greeley

Philharmonic Orchesta, Greeley Cho-rale and Children’s Chorale will per-form a selection of both at the Poinset-tia Pops Concert. A professional hand-bell ensemble will ring in the holidays at the Bells of the Rockies performance at Loveland’s Rialto Theater. Both are sure to be music to your ears!

When it’s time to ring in the New Year, don’t miss the Fort Collins’ First Night celebration. It’s an alcohol-free, family friendly collection of activities. From dancing to live music to activities and games, there’s something for every-one at one of the many venues reserved for First Night fun.
