Objectives of this training

• Define what branding is

• Demonstrate why it’s important and share how it relates to YOU as a Beachbody coach

• Provide tips on how to find YOUR brand and strengthen its

• Provide examples of simple strategies to help strengthen your brand

• Provide social media tips on how to convey your brand effectively

What is branding?

• “The marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products”

•Simply put…your brand is your promise to your customers …think about that for a sec…

Why is Branding Important?

• Coaches are in a business of building relationships or “relationship marketing” so you want to build trust and show people that YOU are the person that can help them in their goals! But how?

• There are over 200,000 of us out there so how in the world do you set yourself apart?

• We all offer the same products and programs. We all love fitness and helping others yet we all DO NOT impact people the same way.

• Everyone has a different story and journey. My fitness story may not resonate with some but YOURS will.

Why is Branding Important con’t

• Some people may not be able to relate to me, and that’s okay

• My posts will not resonate with some, and that’s okay

• The reality is that you can’t be EVERYTHING to EVERYONE and if you try, at best, you will be a watered down version of yourself and at worst, you will have a major identity crisis and wonder what you are doing wrong. This leads to feeling like you must “not be cut out to be a coach” or “this isn’t for me” type of mentality.

Why is Branding Important con’t

• Because people join those whom they like and trust

• A prospective coach will join those who they can relate to

• Those who show kindness, caring and authenticity consistently build the highest levels of trust

• Those who walk the walk consistently build the highest level of trust

• Those who are themselves will build the highest level of trust

Which Brand attracts the most?

•The brand that is honest, authentic, trustworthy, likeable, relatable and packaged well. (Melanie Mitro and Jenelle Summers great examples)

Finding YOUR brand

• Ask yourself How you got to where you are.

• What is something you have struggled with in your life?

• How did it contribute to who YOU are today?

• How did you get to where you are today?

• What is your story? This is a tricky one..because we may have several stories. We may not share them all with our audience. So when you choose to share your story, make sure that people can relate to it. Don’t overwhelm them with details.

Finding YOUR brand con’t

• How do other people describe you? ( fun activity) post this question on your wall.. “if you could describe me in three words, what words would you use?” This helps you find out if your brand is consistent with what you perceive it to be and what it is.

• Add Value consistently. How? By finding ways to help others in unique ways(videos, freemiums, how to lists, resources that make people think of you as helpful. This is where you want to brainstorm and find things that you are interested in and find ways to share it with your audience.

• Having a Team Vision statement( I prefer this vs, Mission statement) Ask yourself, “what is my Vision for what I want to accomplish as a coach, as a fitness professional, as a mentor, as a coach, as a person?” Then craft a Vision statement and find ways to share it with your audience

• Consider creating or having someone create a logo for your BRAND

• My vision statement: Start where you stand, accept who you are today and work on being a better YOU each and every day. My goal is to help you live your purpose and help you love who you are through sharing fitness, faith and family ideas and tips(still tweaking this…but this is a rough draft) .

• Actionable Steps you can take to strengthen your brand:• Posting on Social Media CONSISTENTLY(min 3 x a day) posts that are

consistent with YOUR brand(if you haven’t made a list of your 5 to 10 interests, this is a great place to start)

• Showing progress pictures(befores and work in progress pics) of yourself

• Showing progress in other ways as well(mindset change, how you overcame a struggle, things that you’ve improved in (doesn’t have to always be fitness related)

• Be a walking billboard of fitness and health(this doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. Just convey that you are a “work in progress” but make sure you are showing progress

Strategies that form and strengthen YOUR brand con’t

• Consider having professional pictures taken(headshots and/or fitness shots) and update your profile photo with a smiling, professional picture

• WORK ON YOU constantly! This means Personal Development daily( 30 minutes minimum). What you feed your mind will manifest in your BRAND. Often times when we feel our business is suffering, it’s because we have neglected the most important thing---feeding our mind. Don’t neglect this or all of the other things you do will be ineffective! Yes I’m that confident saying that!

1. Share a resource or tool (fave book, lists, tool you love,fave hangers etc freemium)

2. Share entertaining videos. NOT youtube links. They don’t get as much visibility in newsfeed. Upload straight from phone or computer to social media

3. Pedestal Posts(honor people by giving them shout outs. Coaches, friends, challengers(make sure you ask them if you can shout them out first if they are a challenger to ensure they are comfortable with this)

4. Questions Poll. Ask people to help you make a decision(what color nails, real or fake tree, fave 80’s songs, how to decorate your room, you get the idea)

5. Upswing posts. Don’t be a Debbie downer. Even though our lives are not perfect, people look to us as role models or strength. It comes with the territory. Share “real life” but then flip it to the bright side. Here is an example I just did:

“After a night of waking up with chills and cold sweats and a splitting headache , after several bowls of chicken and stars soup...and after sleeping in way longer than I usually do...I feel half human again....now to entertain Carson...cause let's face it moms, we don't have more than a one day window of being allowed to be sick when we are moms... the bright side...I get to take him to the park today since its in the 40's.”

6. Posts that save time or money. “I don’t normally do this but” and then share a sale of one of our programs….but don’t do it all the time…just convey that it’s a great deal

7. FAQ’s. How to clean your fridge? Answer this for me.

8. Motivational posts. Post what YOU find motivational and think outside the box

9. How to system(steps, check lists, videos)the shorter the videos the better

10.Gratitude post. You can pick a day of the week to do these. Sunday for example. “I am grateful for, …..now your turn”

11.This is WHO I am post. Ask yourself if the post is valuable to someone you have NOT yet met.

12.Invitation posts.(1 out of 10 posts) should be this type of post

The most effective ones are motivational and How to’s but make sure you rotate all of these on your social media platform.

In conclusion

• Be unapologetically YOU and be implement all the strategies consistently and you will establish a solid brand that evokes trust, credibility and will attract your niche to you!

And last ….but not least…….
