Brandcast 2016 Case Study © Stage One Creative Services Limited www.stageone.co.uk CASE STUDY BRANDCAST 2016 We created a series of different zones and stages for this exciting and high-profile event at London’s ExCel. The Brandcast events bring together YouTube innovators, creatives, specially invited guests and star-turn performers, with 2016’s Brandcast featuring James Corden as compère and singer Rick Astley. Working for SET Live, we used over 300 IBC’s as basic construction units, dividing the space and creating additional features such as an entrance tunnel, DJ booth, towers and a wall mounted on the main stage. The IBC’s were internally lit, helping to create a dynamic, party environment. In the Main Auditorium, the 40m by 14m set comprised a staggered stage with three revolves mounted on a sub-stage. The two 6m revolves were from our existing hire stock while the 7m revolve forms part of our brand new technical hire stock, recently manufactured to a higher specification that includes increased speed and load bearing capability.

A scenic wall of IBCs was fi xed to the stage, forming a brightly lit backdrop either side and below the large screen, while the stage surface was fi nished with a black gloss dance fl oor. All fascia were covered with speaker cloth and a control area was constructed to the rear of the audience seating.

In the Reception and Party Area, we created walls from stock fl ats covered with large format digital prints, the longest of which covered a 22m stretch of wall. We provided numerous other features including a shimmer wall; a 2.5m raised DJ booth; a band stage comprising IBCs with a red surface and treads; painted bar units and a series of table tops for the numerous IBC tables arranged throughout the area.

We also created the Red Carpet Area, complete with step and repeat wall; a Registration Area with desk and temporary dressing rooms within the ExCel hall.

It’s always challenging to turn a venue like Excel into an interesting show space but this year’s show looked fantastic and the feedback from both Client and guests has been amazing - even more than in previous years.”

Mark Brattle, SET Live
