Greetings and welcome to the second newsletter of the year This will

be my first message of many to come

As newly elected President of CPA PNG I want the CPA administration

to embrace information technology to the fullest to bring services to the

members and create the efficiency in our administration processes

Professional Accountancy Organisations thrive on lsquoKnowledgersquo as a

Core Commodity We are in the business of creating and holding

knowledge and making it accessible to members of our Community In

this age organisations look to technology to improve performance and

customer satisfaction Technology is becoming a critical success factor

and can be better used to improve business results For the next 8

months the Council will focus on laying the foundation to invest in

Information Communication Technology (ICT) that will be designed as a

long term plan to improve business performance for CPA PNG for the

long haul We envisage that the end game of such investment in ICT

would be to improve service delivery to members through online

services and to improve responsiveness to members Certain routine

tasks and internal processes would be automated so that we can

achieve operational efficiencies that can reduce costs and improve

performance in the long run

As part of this IT improvement process we want to know what services

you expect of CPA PNG It may be a better catalogue of resource

materials to draw on self-updating of membership details and

uploading of CPD etc An online survey will be emailed to you shortly

Please take your time to complete this as this will affect how we design

the IT services

Ultimately the ICT environment should improve CPA PNGrsquos overall

performance A strong integrated interactive and versatile ICT system

can raise the bar to perform better
