    Standards of Professional Conduct 200 - 12 -

    Officers shall not consume any alcoholic or fermented beverages on or off duty, while inuniform or any recognizable portion of the uniform. (Level Three Violation)

    Members shall not consume, store or bring alcoholic beverages into any police facility orvehicle, except for evidential purposes. (Level Three Violation)

    Members shall refrain from the consumption of alcoholic or fermented beverages while on

    duty except when required in the performance of duty, and then never to a degree whichwould render the member unfit for the proper and efficient performance of duty. Membersshall not purchase alcoholic or fermented beverages while on duty except when required inthe performance of duty. (Level Three Violation)

    All officers are encouraged to maintain a positive public image and refrain from purchasingalcoholic or fermented beverages while in uniform or any recognizable portion of theuniform. (Level Two Violation)

    202.59 Use of Alcohol (Off Duty): (Level Two Violation)Members shall refrain from consuming intoxicating beverages to the extent that it results inimpairment/intoxication, or renders one unfit to report for duty (while on call status.) Any memberthat reports to duty under the influence of liquor or drugs, to any degree, shall be deemed in

    violation and subject to disciplinary action. Members shall also refrain from obnoxious or offensivebehavior, which discredits the Police Department.

    202.60 Drinking Alcoholic Beverages / Misuse of Agency Identifi cation wh ile Drinking:(Level Three Violation)Employees while off-duty, drinking alcoholic beverages and/or frequenting premises establishedprimarily for consumption or sale of alcoholic beverages, shall do so only as private individualsand shall not bring discredit upon the agency, nor shall the member or employee voluntarilydisplay agency identification, unless necessary to perform official duties.

    202.61 Aiding an Escape: (Level Five Violation)No member shall aid persons to escape arrest or to escape after arrest.

    202.62 Disclosure of a Criminal Informant: (Level Four Violation)No member shall disclose a criminal informant's name to an unauthorized subject.

    202.63 Acknowledgement of Undercover Officers: (Level Four Violation)No member shall recognize or acknowledge any civilian clothed officer known to be on anundercover investigation.

    202.64 Commission of a Crime: (Level Five Violation)Members shall not commit any felony, or a misdemeanor.

    202.65 Conversion or Delivery of Property: (See Below for Violation levels)

    On-duty personnel, while in their official capacity, shall not use, keep or convert any citizen'sproperty for their personal use when the property comes into the employee's possession as a

    result of his/her employment with the Bradenton Police Department. This does not includevalid purchases from retailers, vendors or other lawful business entities that are in thebusiness of sales. (Level Three Violation)

    Failure to deliver to the official Departmental property custodian any property found by,confiscated by, or relinquished to, officers of this Department, before the tour of duty is ended.(Level Two Violation)

    Failure to place evidence in its officially designated place for preservation and storage beforethe tour of duty is ended. (Level Two Violation)
