TOGETHERWritten by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.
Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award winning Blood Brothers. Bill Kenwright’s production surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End, one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone. It has been affectionately christened the ‘Standing Ovation Musical’, as inevitably it “brings the audience cheering to its feet and roaring its approval” The Daily Mail. The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.

Written 40 years apart, one of Alan Ayckbourn’s most popular and studied plays is joined by the World Premiere of his brand new 79th play.Confusions - From a devoted and isolated mother, to her unfaithful travelling salesman husband, through a solicitous waiter to well-heeled diners and an utterly shambolic garden fete, human frailty is laid bare as one hilarious situation after another unfolds. From high farce to poignant observation; the laughs, however dark, keep coming. Hero’s Welcome - A decorated war hero returns to his boyhood stomping ground with a new young bride, but is all as it seems? Once the welcome flags have stopped waving, few of his friends seem particularly happy to see him back. Suddenly the couple, in search of peace, find themselves once more in the firing line.

The most talked-about new Shakespeare company in the UK, Merely Theatre has honed a style that strips the Bard back to basics - no gauche sets, frilly collars or fussy props: just the actors, the audience and the text. Now the company are stripping back something more profound: the concept of gender.

THE GOOd REVIEW
This West End and Broadway hit is the love story of C.S. Lewis - Oxford don and author of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters - and American poet Joy Davidman. Lewis is comfortable in his life at Oxford University, smug in his convictions about God and his plan for the world until his fan Joy and her young son enter his life and the bewildered theoretician of love in the abstract finally confronts its direct presence. This powerful drama raises questions about religion, humanity, society through a gripping story of love, belief and pain. Starring Stephen Boxer (Humans and The Iron Lady) as C.S. Lewis with further casting to be announced.Following on from its original incarnation as a television drama then subsequent stage adaptation and finally a film starring Anthony Hopkins, Shadowlands is brought to you by the producers of the critically acclaimed touring productions of Birdsong and Flare Path.

“There’s a gentleman living here. He’s got a birthday today, and he’s forgotten all about it. So we’re going to remind him. We’re going to give him a party.”
In a shabby boarding house in a small English seaside town an elderly couple take care of a solitary guest, who rarely ventures out. The arrival of two enigmatic strangers seems to offer a welcome distraction from their mundane existence. But when an impromptu, seemingly innocent birthday party abruptly turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse, there are horrifying repercussions. By turns, cryptic thriller and macabre comedy, The Birthday Party was Harold Pinter’s first major work and is among the most unusual and absorbing of his plays. Making a welcome return following their production of Absent Friends in 2015, London Classic Theatre presents the first significant touring revival of the twenty-first century, promising to bring this ground-breaking classic to fresh and exhilarating life.
