This cooking technology allows foods tocook more evenly and quickly, signicantly

reducing cooking times. The ovens presetcooking temperatures and times, as well asthe cooking temperature and time directionson pre-packaged foods, may need to bechanged depending on the recipe, theamount of food and your personal taste.

We recommend experimenting with thetemperature and time settings to producethe desired results.

The cooking temperature and time can be

    A NOTE ON RACK HEIGHTPOSITIONS

Cooking results are signicantly affectedby the position of the wire rack as thisdetermines how close the food is to theheating elements. We highly recommendfollowing the rack height position for eachfunction as printed on the right hand sideof the oven doors glass window. However, these are a guide only. Certain foods mayrequire a different rack height positiondepending on the recipe, the amount andsize of the food and your personal taste.

    NOTE

When using metal foil to coveraccessories, pans, and dishes, it isrecommended that the wire rack be inthe middle or bottom location.

    NOTE

When the wire rack is inserted intothe middle rack height position, the Magnetic Auto-Eject Rackautomatically ejects the wire rack

halfway out of the oven when the ovendoor is opened. This is so your toasteditems can be safely and easily removed.

Always open the door slowly and ina controlled manner when the wirerack is inserted into this rack heightposition to prevent the wire rack fromejecting too quickly.

    For optimum cooking results:

The wire rack should always be insertedinto the rack height position with thespokes facing upwards.

Food should be positioned on the center

of the wire rack, broil rack, baking tray orpizza tray to let maximum airow reachthe food.

    A NOTE ON OPTIONAL SETTINGS

CONVECTION ButtonConvection cooking uses fan assistance tocirculate heated air around the food. Thisproduces faster, more even, more energyefcient cooking.

Convection cooking is the default settingon the BAKE, ROAST, PIZZA, COOKIEand REHEAT functions. The setting can bedeselected by pressing the

CONVECTION button, or re-selected bypressing the CONVECTION button asecond time.

Convection cooking can reduce cookingtimes. Some foods may not be ideal forconvection cooking refer to recipespage 56. We recommend experimentingwith the convection, temperature and time

settings to produce the desired results. For optimum results: Use oven-proof baking dishes, roasting

pans, pizza pans or cookie sheets withvery low sides, and place on the centerof the wire rack to let maximum airowreach the food.

For the same reason, do not cover foodswith metal foil or any other type of lid orcovering for maximum airow.

    Most recipes recommend reducing

The BROIL function is ideal for open

sandwiches, small cuts of meat, poultry,sh, sausages and vegetables. Broiling canalso be used to brown the tops of casserolesand gratins.

    1. Insert the wire rack into the toprack height position. The wire rackshould be positioned with the spokesfacing upwards.

    NOTE

We recommend using the top rackheight position during the BROILfunction. However this is a guide only.Certain foods may require the middlerack height position depending on therecipe, the amount and size of the foodand your personal taste.

For example, the middle rack heightposition may be more appropriatefor taller foods that may touch theheating elements, thicker foods such

as hamburger patties, marinated foodssuch chicken wings, or foods thatrequire a gentle broil.

We recommend experimenting withthe rack height position, as well asthe temperature and time settings toproduce the desired results.

    2. Insert the Breville enamel broil rackinto the enamel baking pan. Place food

on the assembled broil rack or in anoven-proof dish, then place on the centerof the wire rack so air ows around thesides of the food.

    NOTE

When broiling, the enamel broil rackmust be inserted into the Brevilleenamel baking pan. When assembledtogether, the broil rack is designed to

drain grease and fats away from meatsfor healthier cooking. The baking pancollects these pan drippings and helpsprevent spattering.

    NOTE

Caution should be exercised when usingmetal foil to cover accessories, pans, anddishes. Be sure that the metal foil is ttedsecurely as close contact with the ovensheating elements can cause overheatingand risk of re.
