From the Principal’s Desk… Congratulations to everyone for an amazing “BIG DAY OUT” last week. A lot of fun was had by all. The removal of the canteen and toilet buildings was very successful and the students returned that afternoon to brand new toilet facilities. The construction workmen are working around the clock to finish on Friday 16th December 2016. It’s exciting watching the final touches happening which are transforming the building into a school.
Last week the students voted for the 2017 student leaders. The speeches by ALL candidates were fantastic. Congratulations to all candidates, who made us all proud during their speeches.
The school Captains for 2017 are:
Saxon & Noah The vice-captains for 2017 are:
Aidan & Mariah

learning and school planning.
At the beginning of 2017 staff will return on Friday
27th January to participate in professional learning
and preparation for the commencement of the
school year. Staff has elected to work through to
9pm, on this day, to utilize this time more effectively.
The variation has been approved by the Director and
will replace the last day of the school year for
professional learning for staff i.e. Tuesday 19th
December 2017.
The main focus on professional development during
this day will be EAL/D, Reading, BEAR, Multilit and
Child Protection, as well as the usual organizational
discussions on staffing, timetabling, organizing
classrooms, WH&S and forming classes.
Students will return to school on Monday 30th
January 2017. Throughout this day 2017 classes will
be formed and information will go home that
afternoon informing parents of your child’s class
teacher and location. Currently the school is
expecting 84 Kindergarten children to commence on
Thursday 2nd February 2017 and the school will be
forming 18 classes for the school year.
An open morning is being planned for Monday 23rd
January 2017 from 9-11am. The NEW building will be
open for everyone to walk through and have a look at
the completed facilities prior to the children
returning for the 2017 school year.
