Held at Fisher College in Boston, the program offers a diverse set of learning experiences that includes panel dis- cussions, interactive exercises, field trips and guest lectures from area business and government professionals. The program is designed to be fun, challenging and engaging. Students will explore, network and increase their understanding about college and the business world while making new friends and developing interpersonal skills in a real-life college setting. ACAP (Accounting Career Awareness Program) is a free, one-week, non-residency program for

underrepresented high school students who are interested in learning more about a career in accounting and business. Rasheed BelusExcel High School, Class of 2018

I am thinking about studying chemistry in college. My strengths include fast learning, being good at math and the ability to com-municate with others. I have worked with the Dorchester YMCA as a swim instructor and a life guard. Particular accomplishments are being hand-picked by my teacher to attend the school’s science fair and being the rookie of the year of 2017 at my job.

Joseph “Smith” CharlesMilton High School, Class of 2019

I play football, run track and field and am involved in The Young Men’s Group and the student leadership program at Milton High. In the future, I plan to study mechanical and chemical engineering as well as economics. I was born and lived in Haiti for the first 8 years of my life.

Lucius FirminMilton High School, Class of 2019

I am a member of the Young Men’s Group, an organization of young black students who motivate one another to go to college. I also play on the basketball team for the Milton Wildcats. My plan is to complete at least four years of college and have a great internship while there. One fun fact about me is that I lived in Miami, Florida for eight years.

Susana JiaRandolph High School, Class of 2019

I came to the USA last October and moved to Randolph. I am a member of the math team and also love playing chess after school with my classmates and teachers. I would like to study finance and human resources management when I attend college, a goal I have had for a very long time and will try my best to achieve.

Francoise “Franny” Exantus Milton High School, Class of 2018

My strengths include communicating with others and solving problems, and a particu-lar accomplishment is being a member of the National Honor Society. I would like to pur-sue accounting or finance in college, because I want to be able to be part of something big and to help people.

Rony ExantusMilton High School, Class of 2020

My strengths include persistence, integrity, and a sense of leadership. I am proud of my accomplishment of winning the state com-petition with my crew team at the NPSRA regatta. I am a person who can play the leader role on a team to lead them to success or victory.

Jonathan JointNew Mission High School, Class of 2017

I will be attending Boston College in the fall and plan to study philosophy and finance. I am one who loves to ask “why” questions because I believe it is essential to being a lifelong learner. I have been involved with City Year and Leaders of Tomorrow where I represented Boston at a national case competition. I take pride in being the co-founder of the Young Gentlemen’s group at my high school, captain of the varsity soccer team and among the top 10 of my graduating high school class.

Daphterlie LouisRandolph High School Class of 2018

My strengths include being able to work well with others and always being open to new experiences. I am an honor roll student and I am interested in helping people learn English because I speak both English and Creole. I am also interested in law because I love helping others and proving my point.

Nick NahidWhittier Tech, Class of 2019

I am currently learning accounting in our business and marketing class. My strengths include the ability to find a problem and identify how to fix it. I enjoy math and analyzing information and I am certified in Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint. I’m a member of the soccer and track team.

Jacari TaylorExcel High School, Class of 2018

I run track and field and also enjoy boxing and basketball. I’d like to pursue a career in entertainment. A fun fact about me is that I was part of a student group that went white-water rafting in the Grand Canyon this summer.

Daryl-Randall “Randy” WilliamsCathedral High School, Class of 2018

I enjoy critical thinking and problem-solving and would like to attend MIT or Wentworth to pursue a career as a computer engineer. Some of my accomplishments include being a two-time MIAA football all-star and a two-time captain of my school’s varsity team. I am active in the Dorchester YMCA, which has helped me enhance my leadership and communications skills.

Shiann Quilter-MubarakCodman Academy Charter Public School, Class of 2019

My strengths are fulfilling the responsibilities that are given to me. As a teen I have worked for the Dorchester YMCA and I’ve also been involved with Youth Hub. A particular accom-plishment of mine was developing a resume on my own while learning the proper way to conduct myself during an interview. I have an interest in law enforcement because growing up I’ve been exposed to different forms of protec-tion from these individuals.

Josmell RamosWhittier Tech, Class of 2019

I am always intrigued to find out about new things and enjoy reading in my spare time. I am studying accounting in high school and would like to eventually pursue a Master’s degree in accounting and become a CPA. A fun fact about me is that I speak Spanish, English and am currently learning to speak French.

Shiylin “Shy” WilliamsBeaver Country Day School, Class of 2019

My strengths include being responsible and taking initiative and leadership in every-thing I do. I am a member of the Dorchester YMCA and have a part-time job at a supermarket. Particular accomplishments are being promoted from a checkout clerk, to a customer service representative, to now being trained for the back room and book keeping. I have an interest in engineering and have studied it for three years now.

Annie WongMilton High School, Class of 2018

I have worked for the South Shore YMCA Summer Day Camp for two years as a camp counselor. At school, my extracurricular activities include indoor and outdoor track where I sprint and also throw javelin. Along with this, I am involved in the fall musical at my school where I work with the technical elements and stage crew. I am interested in going to a four year college or university and am considering a career in the medical or scientific field. A fun fact about me is that I am currently a camp counselor at the same camp that I have been going to ever since I was five years old.

I enjoy writing for my school’s newspaper, being a student ambassador, and playing on the volleyball team. My future plans include attending Boston University, Northeastern University or Harvard University to pursue a career in medicine and business. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels and mysteries and English is my favorite subject.
