Dr. Ejup Ganić, President of Sarajevo School of Science and Technology Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm A delegation from the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), Bosnia and Herzegovina, will visit the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) from May 1 to May 3, 2013. The SSST was established in October 2004 in Sarajevo as the first private University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. International House is pleased to partner with UNCC and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Cultural Center (BHACC) for this presentation. Dr. Ejup Ganić will speak about the current political and economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ejup Ganić, PhD, is the Founder and President/Chancellor of Sarajevo School of Science and Technology. He was President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1997 to 1999 and again from 2000 to 2001. Dr. Ganić has been involved in politics since 1990 and was among the most active political leaders in the Balkan region. In the first democratic elections in Bosnia- Herzegovina (November 1990), he was elected as a Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, holding the office until September 1996. Dr. Ganić has a Ph.D. in Engineering Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2002, he published a book called Engineering Companion, published by McGraw-Hill.
