Dopo 40 anni, fabbricando calzature da montagna e scarpette d’arrampicata attraverso le numerose modifiche delle nostre strutture che abbiamo realizzato in tutto questo tempo, presentiamo il nostro progetto del futuro.

Per poter far fronte all’incremento della domanda e allo stesso tempo per

potenziare il “Made in Spain”, che è parte della nostra filosofia, inaugureremo la nostra nuova struttura nel 2016.

Ampliamo la nostra fabbrica di Villena di 3.000 m2, con una completa

ristrutturazione, per adeguare le strutture al futuro, ricorrendo a diversi accorgimenti come la luce naturale, l’utilizzo dell’acqua piovana e la maggior integrazione possibile con l’ambiente naturale.

Fabbricare calzature in Spagna è ogni giorno più complicato, per la diseguale

competitività degli altri paesi con mano d’opera estremamente più bassa. In alcuni casi le condizioni del mercato lo rendono impossibile ma nella maggior parte della nostra linea di prodotti pensiamo che sia possibile. Per continuare con la nostra filosofia dobbiamo massimizzare al massimo l’efficienza e l’ordine, e per questo andiamo a portare a termine il più grande investimento strutturale della nostra storia.

Il rispetto della natura e le ottime condizioni di lavoro del nostro personale sono e

saranno la nostra priorità e per questo il “Made in Spain” è il nostro motto. Per questo affrontiamo il futuro con la completa illusione di continuare a portare

After 40 years of manufacturing mountain boots and rock climbing shoes, and after several updates to our manufacturing facilities along the way, we are proud to share with you our new project.

In order to be able to respond to increasing demand, while simultaneously allowing us to continue with our ‘Made in Spain’ philosophy, we are building a new manufacturing facility in 2016.

We are increasing the size of our factory in Villena, by 3000sqm, with a complete reconfiguration of our facilities to ready them for the future of our company. The new facilities will be ecologically sympathetic and use natural resources where possible such as natural light and rain water collection.

Manufacturing footwear in Spain becomes more challenging by the day, largely due to pressure from much cheaper overseas labour. In some cases market conditions make it impossible, but with the vast majority of our products we believe it is possible. To continue with our in-house production philosophy it is imperative that we maximise our efficiency, this is why we have chosen to make the biggest investment in our facilities in our company’s history.

Respect for the environment, the best possible working conditions for our employees and our legendary “Made in Spain” quality standards are our priorities.

We face the future with a complete commitment, bringing new products to the market with all our passion and at the same time developing our community.

With these new facilities and the overall forward progression of our company today we look forward to the next chapter in Boreal’s future.

Nel 1984 Boreal realizza la prima scarpa da montagna con una membrana impermeabile (New-Tex®).

Nel 1986, grazie alla collaborazione tra BOREAL e Gore, lanciamo nel mercato la prima scarpa da montagna con membrana Gore-Tex®.

Nel 1995, con il sistema DRY-LINE®, otteniamo una soluzione all'avanguardia nelle scarpe da montagna. L'insieme della membrana Sympatex® 337 Professional, del tessuto di supporto e della mono-microfibra, aggiungono ai valori di impermeabilità, durata, resistenza all'abrasione e isolamento termico quelli di una traspirazione e aerazione eccezionali.

Il grado di traspirazione risulta chiaramente moltiplicato grazie al procedimento di tessitura della mono-microfibra. Questa forma una camera d'aria e, al suo interno, ha una configurazione alveolare con microcelle che le conferiscono una elevata flessibilità e favoriscono la traspirazione longitudinale del vapore, dal basso verso l'alto. Allo stesso tempo, grazie all'aria interna agli strati, consente anche un isolamento termico.

In definitiva, il sistema DRY-LINE® è molto più che una semplice membrana impermeabile, giacchè permette che le nostre calzature siano le più traspirabili del mercato.

Questa membrana (spessore 1/66 di millimetro) è composta per un 70% di Poliestere, che permette l'impermeabilità, e un 30% Polietere che permette la traspirazione.

Membrana più ecologica del mercato: nella formulazione rientrano il Carbonio, l'Ossigeno e l'Idrogeno, elementi chimici che adempiono a tutte le norme ambientali.

Membrana più elastica del mercato: si allunga fino a un 300%, resistendo nel migliore dei modi alle pieghe, flessioni e continue pressioni.

Notevole resistenza e durata in comparazione alle altre membrane del mercato.

The membrane (1/66 millimetre in thickness) is composed of 70% Polyester, which provides it’s waterproofness, and 30% Polyether, which provides it’s breathability.

Sympatex® is the most elastic membrane on the market: it has a stretching capacity of 300%. Thanks to this, it easily absorbs the constant flex and stresses generated by walking, trekking and mountaineering.

Unlike other membranes Sympatex® has no pores to clog, so it’s performance will not deteriorate with use or as the boots become dirty.

Halogen and solvent free, Sympatex® is the most eco-friendly membrane on the market.

In 1984 BOREAL developed the first mountain boot with a waterproof membrane (New-Tex®).

In 1986, BOREAL and Gore worked together to produce the world’s first mountain boot featuring a Gore-Tex® membrane.

In 1995 Boreal achieved a significant step forward in boot technology with the DRY-LINE® system. A unique combination of Sympatex® 337 Professional with a wicking micro-fibre which gives unparalleled water-proofness, breathability, high tenacity and resistance to abrasion.

The breathability of DRY-LINE® is increased by the special way in which the micro-fibres are knitted to the Sympatex® membrane. They form an air-space between the membrane and the inside of the boot liner. Because the micro-fibres are springy and flexible, perspiration is pumped vertically through the air space and out of the boot by the natural movement of the foot when walking, as well as wicking horizontally across the membrane.

The DRY-LINE® system is much more than just a waterproof membrane. It makes Boreal Mountain and Trekking boots simply the most breathable, durable and comfortable boots you’ll ever wear!

Costruito con il sistema “a guanto”. Per un maggiore isolamento tutte le cuciture sono termosaldate. Il collarino e la parte interna della linguetta sono fabbricati in Lorica.

Chiusura rapida e semplice con velcro e tanka.

Chiusura superiore della ghetta pratica e precisa con elastico.

Zona del collo del piede con doppio strato di Cordura e con altri strati di Thinsulate® per una maggiore protezione termica.

Tessuto inferiore super resistente con membrana impermeabile, tessuto superiore ad alta abrasione con membrana impermeabile incorporata Sympa-tex®. Isolante termico speciale nella parte inferio-re con strati di Thinsulate® e Polietilene.

Il sottopiede è dotato di 4 strati di isolante termico: Radoma, Thinsulate® e due strati di Neoprene da 2 mm. Fascione di protezione di TPU. Vibram New Mulaz. Suola di gomma con fascione in PU con EVA ammortizzante nel tallone. Inserti speciali di TPU nel tallone per i ramponi con stabilizzante di TPU nella zona me-tatarsale. Suola liscia esterna di TPU per isolamento e per evitare lo slittamen-to della scarpetta interna allínterno nello scafo.

Impostazione scarpa del piede

La forma The last

Una scarpetta dárrampicata, una volta calzata, si deve "adattare in modo confortevole" al piede e in modo uniforme: non deve far male in nessun punto (specialmente alle dita). Dopo un certo tempo, con lúso, le scarpette ben calzate tendono ad adattarsi al piede. Se però provocano un dolore importante nei punti di pressione, le scarpette non cederanno facilmente neanche dopo il periodo di adattamento.

Lèlemento che determina maggiormente una buona calzata della scarpa è la forma sulla quale si costruisce la calzaura (cioè lo stampo che sostituisce il piede nella fabbricazione). Boreal utilizza differenti forme anatomiche per ottenere scarpette destinate a usi diversi ( appoggio tecnico, arrampicata sportiva, competizioni, vie lunghe, etc.). Le due caratteristiche più importanti determinate dalle forme dipendono dalla somma di due fattori: flessibilità e forma della pianta.

A rock climbing shoe should fit "comfortably tight" throughout and never cause pain at any one particular point (especially in the toe box). Shoes fitted in this manner will stretch and produce a personalized fit after a while. Boots that produce painful "pressure points" usually won't stretch out after the initial breaking in period.

The most important factor affecting the shoe's fit is the shape of the last, the model "foot" around which the shoe is constructed. Boreal incorporates certain anatomical shapes in its lasts to achieve various effects depending upon what each shoe is designed for (technical edging, sport climbing, competition, long routes, etc.). The two most important characteristics of the last are the amount of "Flex" it has and the shape of its "Sole".

E´quella in cui la tomaia di pelle viene unita in basso con la parte inferiore, normalmente sempre di pelle, punto per punto, mediante una cucitura speciale a zig-zag. Non è necessario montare la tomaia in anticipo sulla forma. Questa viene inserita succesivamente nella tomaia e ben adattata. Non c´è bisogno della soletta e, volendo, si può anche evitare lúso di intersuole. In questo modo si ottiene una scarpetta piú leggera, flessibile e sensibile. Questa costruzione è piú adatta alle forme convesse in quanto queste non richiedono intersuole rigide per mantenere il piede benfermo sugli appoggi, etc.

Il sistema "Guanto" è ideale per lárrampicata libera su pareti molto verticali, strutture artificiali... Líntersuola è molto sottile e consente una maggiore sensibilità e flessibilità.

The slip-lasting method of construction involves sewing the leather uppers to the leather insole to create a kind of "sock". The sock is then slipped over the last and the midsole (if desired), rands, and soles are then glued on. This method of construction produces shoes that are lightweight, flexible, and very sensitive.

Slip-lasting is prefered for cambered lasts because stiff midsoles are not necessary to obtain edging performance and would destroy sensitivity with these types of shoes.

Slip lasted shoes are perfect for sport climbing, steep faces, and indoor climbing. The midsoles are very thin and provide incredible sensitivity and flexiblity.

E´quella in cui la tomaia di pelle, già cucita, viene "montata-incollata" con adesivo alla soletta precedentemente modellata sulla pianta della forma. In genere viene anche utilizzato del materiale sintetico o una intersuola. Di conseguenza questo sistema dà vita a una scarpetta più compatta e solida, in grado di sostenere maggiormente il piede.

Questa costruzione si utilizza in genere con le forme semi-flesse o molto poco convesse in quanto soletta e intersuola permettono di ottenere una rigidità maggiore e consentono una calzata più comoda.

Il sistema "Montato-Incollato" é ideale per le vie in placca su piccoli appoggi e tacche strette, in fessura e su vie lunghe...Garantisce maggiore robustezza e supporto grazie alle intersuole più spesse che vengono inserite nella tomaia.

Board-lasting involves placing the laced uppers over the top of the last and wrapping them underneath and gluing them to the preplaced insole attached to the bottom of the last. Another midsole then fills in the center of the sole so that the rands and sole can be glued on. Because the insole is mounted inside the shoe, this method produces shoes with more integrity and durability.

Board-lasting is utilized with semi-flexed lasts because when the insole is mounted inside the uppers, the shoes already have sufficient stiffness for edging and are more comfortable to wear.

Board-lasted shoes are great for edging routes, long faces, and crack climbs. Because of their thicker midsoles and interiorly mounted insole, these shoes are stiffer and offer greater support and durability.
