What is Verb Conjugation?



Verb conjugation is

matching verbs with the correct subject-in

the present, the past, the future, etc.



Verb Conjugation in English- the Present Tense

The Verb : ‘To Be’

To be happy:I am happy.

You are happy.

He, She , It is happy.

They are happy.

We are happy.

You all are happy.

Note: am, are, & is are all different forms of the same verb, ‘to be’ .

‘To Be’ is the VerbName (the Infinitve)

In English, conjugation of verbs are much simpler than the verb, ‘To Be’ .

The verb, ‘To Be’ is an irregular verb- very different from most English verbs.



Verb Conjugation in English – the Present Tense
