Welcome to Cornerstone,

Cornerstone Center, the first accredited early childhood center inthe city of St. Louis, provides working parents and guardians (or parent/guardians pursuing higher education) of all economicbackgrounds with licensed, accredited,award-winning, and affordable child care and pre-k education.

We serve children 6 weeks to 6 years (pre-kindergarten).

We’re located in St. Louis’ historic Shaw Neighborhood (only a few minutes from downtown).

We’re open year-round, Monday–Friday, 6:30am–6:30pm.

Tuition is based on a sliding salary scale; need-based scholarships are also available.

Cornerstone Center for Early Learning was founded in 1969, when community volunteers discovered that an abundance of working parents, unable to afford child care, were leaving their pre-kindergarten children home alone and unsupervised.

Cornerstone Center follows a Constructivist educational philosophy that views children as eager learners, able to construct their own knowledge with the guidance of skilled instructors.

Our students explore the beginnings of reading, writing, math, art, and science as they play in water, pound on clay, plant flowers, draw, paint, sing, dance, bake, and so much more!

Cornerstone Center’s large, gated, outdoor playgrounds and indoor multi-purpose room allow children to play and to move, developing their gross motor skills, regardless of the weather.
