“Education will be more about how to process and use information and less about imparting it. This is a consequence of both the proliferation of knowledge-and how much of it any student can truly absorb-and changes in technology. Before the printing press, scholars might have had to memorize The Canterbury Tales to have continuing access to them. This seems a bit ludicrous to us today. But in a world where the entire Library of Congress will soon be accessible on a mobile device with search procedures that are vastly better than any card catalog, factual mastery will become less and less important.”

Lawrence H. Summers, “What You (Really) Need to Know”

How it works

Page 10: Book Worms Presentation (NEW)

The first edition will travel through a physical social network starting with a person each group member knows and trusts and passed on in the same fashion.

The books will travel for a period of one month being filled with knowledge.

Once filled, it will be returned to the group to be edited and published.

Guidelines

Page 19: Book Worms Presentation (NEW)

The publication must ultimately be written in English. The original book may be written in various languages but if that is the case an online version will need to be created and translated

into English, as well as the 5 other printed editions.

The contributors will be trusted with the care and content of the book.

We hold the right to edit the final publication.

Contributors will be able to “check in” the books as they receive

them via the official twitter page. In this way, the books will be able to be tracked by us and other interested contributors and readers in real time.

Following the release of the other 5 editions, a website will be created as a place people can continue sharing and interact with the books.
