Among vegetables fibres, coconut fibre has been extensively used in the development of eco-logical products, due to its characteristic as organic solid waste. These coconut fibres is well known as eco-friendly and do not harm to the environment. Once it’s thrown, coconut fibre also prevent contributions to air, water and land pollution. At minimum, the product is non-toxic.
Based on the egg drop experiment, it is concluded that coconut fibre as tested in its natural form presented better cushioning effect as compared to bubble wrap, crumpled newspaper and without packaging material. Coconut fibre is a material that can be decomposed by biological activity, especially by microorganisms. This biodegradable package produced with free energy from the sun, water and locally available soil nutrients.

An important function of food packaging is to ensure that the food is protected. ‘Cushion Lander’ requires the invention of a protective device to prevent breakage when an egg is dropped from some specified height. A parachute for the container holding egg is designed to reduce the velocity at which the egg drops. Since the egg is falling at a slower speed, the force of the impact will be much less once it hits the ground. Less force means that your egg might have a chance at survival.
For example, when the bundle left the aircraft, the box would open up, allowing the supplies to free fall to the ground. To avoid the products destroyed upon impact, a better cushioning wrap and impact absorber is essential. Therefore, straws are designed as an impact absorber surrounding the ‘Cushion Lander’. The relief effort also demonstrated a need for improved methods, cost-saving equipment and reduced man-hours for conducting stability and support operations.. The ‘Cushion Lander’ can be used during war, disasters and time of trouble to air drop essentials supplies such as food, medicines, and water.
