BOILER EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Section includes

1. Furnish integrated boiler, burner, and control system described herein, complete and ready forinstallation. System shall include all instrumentation and control components to add heat to a closed loop water system. Vendor shall provide startup services and training to operate the equipment.

1.2 PRICE AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES

A. Measurement and Payment

1. Payment to 15% at approval of shop drawings and release for fabrication.

2. Payment to 90% upon delivery of equipment to site.

3. Payment in full following testing and start-up.

1.3 SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data/Shop Drawings. Detailing the following at minimum:

1. Overall unit and instrumentation diagram for furnished equipment, including power and processcontrol wiring.

2. Fabrication drawings as relevant.

3. Product/equipment data/shop-drawings for all components (including operation sequence narrative).

4. Product data and safety information.

B. Installation drawings. Contractor to submit dimensional drawings, anchor system drawings, piping connection details, conduit connection drawings for Owner review. Drawings to provide following detail at minimum:

1. Installation location/arrangement – access clearances

2. Slab/equipment base details

3. Special flexible/vibration isolation fitting requirements

4. Wall penetration and repair details

5. Electrical/instrumentation wiring conduit/alignment

6. Anchor system detail

1.4 CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS

A. Operation and Maintenance Data. Provide one (1) hard copy bound in three-ring binders with major sections tabbed for navigation convenience and one (1) digital copy of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual in PDF format. PDF shall be bookmarked and text shall be searchable. O&M manuals to include at minimum:

1. Contact information for manufacturer and vendor.

2. List of equipment and parts for unit; equipment functions, normal operating characteristics, andlimiting conditions; assembly, installation, alignment, adjustment, and checking instructions.

3. Operating instructions for start-up, testing, normal operation, regulation and control, normalshutdown, and emergency shutdown.

4. Detailed maintenance and troubleshooting guide/instructions including maintenance schedule.

5. Complete spare parts list (including part numbers) with predicted life of parts subject to wear, lists ofspare parts recommended on hand for both initial start-up and for normal operating inventory, and local or nearest source of spare parts availability.

B. Testing & start-up report. Certify installation and operation per specification and manufacturer recommendations. Provide documentation of all testing and start-up activities and data.

C. Documentation of training completion.

D. Warranty Documentation.

1.5 OWNER REFERENCE DRAWINGS

A. Layout. Owner has included, for reference only, a layout titled “ENGINE BUILDING FLOOR PLAN” of the proposed boiler location and connection schematic.

B. Process Flow Diagram. Owner has included, for reference only, a process flow diagram titled “ENGINER BUILDING BOILER ROOM FLOW DIAGRAM” to illustrate the intended use of the boiler unit.

1.6 MAINTENANCE MATERIAL SUBMITTALS

A. Spare Parts. Furnish spare parts for one (1) year normal maintenance activities.

B. Tools. Furnish all special tools (within a case) recommended by Manufacturer to perform normal maintenance activities on supplied products and equipment.

1.7 WARRANTY

A. All furnished material products shall be warranted by the manufacturer for 18 months from delivery.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 MANUFACTURER

2.2 DELIVERY

A. City desires drawing submittals and approvals to be completed within 30 days of contract execution. City expects delivery of unit within 12 weeks after release for fabrication.

2.3 DESCRIPTION

A. Furnish one (1) package boiler and burner system with the components listed below. Unit will receive natural gas via utility provider and shall operate in an uninsulated indoor environment. Combustion air is provide via ambient available air in an equipment room. System is intended to assist other heating systems in maintaining water temperatures within a closed loop heating system.

2.4 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

a. Unit is expected to run during cool seasons, typically October 1 through June 1b. Unit is expected to remain offline during warm seasons, typically June 1 through October 1c. During operating seasons, the unit will run continuously

7. Size and locationa. Owner will place unit on a maintenance pad and the unit shall fit within space identified withinthe attached plan.

2.5 COMPONENTS

A. Boiler Unit. Boiler shall be a complete working unit with individual actuator control of burner fuel and combustion air for fuel-to air ratio control. System shall have a graphical human-machine interface (HMI) to illustrate system configuration, combustion settings, process monitoring, alarm managements, and a system history function. System shall be supplied with dual fuel manifold, but will not require a digester gas fuel train at this time.

B. Exhaust Stack. Unit shall be supplied with double wall, 316 SS exhaust stack. Vendor shall also supply 316 SS: rain cap, roof support, roof firestop, flashing, roof collar, suspension bands, threaded rod, and necessary connectors that shall be installed by owner. Required package materials shall be verified by vendor during pre-order site visit.

C. Expansion Tank. Unit shall be supplied with manufacturer recommended 80 gallon expansion tank.

D. Bypass Chemical Feeder. Unit shall be supplied with manufacturer recommended 5 gallon bypass chemical feeder.

E. ALL other components required by manufacturer to complete the packaged system, including conduit connectors, wiring connectors, anchors, and conduit appurtenances (e.g., expansion joints, standard valves, wiring, etc.) that are internal to the unit to make the boiler a fully functional and operational unit. External connections such as wiring to the electrical panel or connection to the water loop piping are excluded.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 PRE-ORDER SITE VISIT

A. Vendor/Manufacturer is expected to conduct a site visit in the presence of owner to verify dimensions, clearances, piping connections and orientations, electrical connections, stack dimensions, gas connections and available pressure, and required hardware.

3.2 STORAGE / DELIVERY

A. Vendor/Manufacturer is expected to store and protect products until delivered to owner. Delivery will not be considered complete until all materials are received.

B. Deliver unit to owner during normal business hours, 0800-1700, Monday through Friday, with a delivery scheduled a minimum of 72 hours in advance. Owner will provide unit offloading.

3.3 TESTING, START-UP & TRAINING

A. Owner shall install unit.

B. Vendor shall verify installation meets manufacturer minimum recommendations.

C. Vendor shall provide minimum six (6) hour training session to Owner’s personnel and cover the following minimum number of topics: routine startup/shutdown; preventative maintenance; normal maintenance operations; and, troubleshooting and repair.
