CCHIT Program Launch CCHIT launching programs now

Understand there is uncertainty in the specifics/scope of ARRA requirements.

Domains: Inpatient, Emergency Department, Ambulatory, HIE Domains included a small number of additional criteria to meet the

objectives and measures outlined in the Meaningful Use Matrix Add-on for domains for Advanced Interoperability (XDS)

Add-ons for Ambulatory: Cardiology and Child Health Child Health criteria are the work product of the Child Health Work Group

last year with no additional criteria being required to meet Meaningful Use.

Why we launched 2011 certification now:

Providers and hospitals who wait until Fall 2010 to choose EHR technology will experience a high risk of failing to

achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives.

Duration of Certifications

Both programs tied to ARRA incentive windows

CCHIT and ARRA 2011 Certifications anticipated to expire December 31, 2012

If HHS extends availability for ‘first adoption year’ incentives beyond that date, CCHIT will extend certifications at the same renewal rates, pro-rated if less than 12 months.

Interaction with HL-7

HL7 is a key source of criteria for all CCHIT Work Groups Child Health Work Group completed gap analysis between HL7 and

CCHIT.

Communication goes two ways on discussion topics where group members share back and forth.
