HISTORICAL REVIEW■ The HSE21 Design Team consisting of teachers and administrators 

began meeting during the 2012‐13 school year to set an instructional vision for Hamilton Southeastern Schools.

■ A team of teachers agreed to pilot various devices during the 2013‐14 school year that could provide a 1:1 environment to help support the instructional vision of HSE21.

■ A graphic was designed to lay‐out the instructional vision, a device was identified for the 1:1 implementation to support HSE21and a timetable for a 1:1 roll‐out was adopted– Intermediate roll‐out in 2014‐15– Jr. High and High School roll‐out in 2015‐16– Elementary roll‐out in 2016‐17

ELEMENTARY 1:1 PILOT

■ 23 Teachers– All 12 Elementary Buildings– K‐4 and Special Areas Represented– Devices were allowed (and encouraged) to go home at all 

grade levels in late October after the first quarter– Currently also testing out various digital content

THE OPPORTUNITY

1. The 1:1 Roll‐out for the Elementary Schools begins in August 2016

2. Devices are permitted to go home at all levels

3. Provide on‐going professional development on the integration of technology as a support to HSE21

4. Review the cost of iPad rental and other fees
