Dr. Zeti served as Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia from May 2000 until April 2016. In her career at the central bank, she had an important role in successfully managing the repair and resolution of the financial system during the Asian financial crisis and the consequent strong recovery of the economy in Malaysia. In the following decade, she also had an important role in the financial reform and transformation of the Malaysian financial system including overseeing the enactment of ten new major pieces of legislation for the financial sector. This period also saw the progressive liberalization of the Malaysian financial system. In the Asian region, Dr. Zeti was actively involved in strengthening cooperation and regional financial integration. In 2006, she chaired the regional task force that prepared the report for the future direction of central bank financial cooperation in the East Asian region. An important voice for the emerging world, she was a founding member of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Asian Consultative Council, and was also the first co-chair of the Financial Stability Board Regional Consultative Group for Asia. She was the Chair of the BIS Central Bank Governance Group. Dr. Zeti also had an extensive role in the global development of Islamic finance. She was also active in the global financial inclusion agenda. She is currently the Co-chair Board of Governors of Asia School of Business, established in collaboration with MIT Sloan. Dr. Zeti received her PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Richard Schmalensee, Co-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Asia School of Business, is the Howard W. Johnson Professor of Management and Economics Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and served as the John C Head III Dean of the MIT Sloan School of Management from 1998 through 2007.

He was as a Member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers from 1989 through 1991 and served for 12 years as Director of the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research. Professor Schmalensee is the author or co-author of 12 books and more than 120 published articles.

His research has centered on industrial organization economics and its application to managerial and public policy issues, with particular emphasis on antitrust, regulatory, energy, and environmental policies. Professor Schmalensee is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was the 2012 Distinguished Fellow of the Industrial Organization Society. He has served on the Executive Committee of the American Economic Association and has been a Director of the International Securities Exchange and other corporations.

He is currently a Director of the International Data Group and the National Bureau of Economic Research, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Resources for the Future.

David Schmittlein joined the MIT Sloan School of Management as John C Head III Dean in October, 2007. Prior to his appointment at MIT Sloan, Dean Schmittlein has served on the faculty at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania from 1980 until 2007. While at Wharton, he was the Ira A. Lipman Professor and Professor of Marketing.

He also served as Interim Dean during July 2007 and as Deputy Dean from 2000-2007. In addition, he was chair of the editorial board for Wharton School Publishing.

Dean Schmittlein received a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Business from Columbia University and B.A. in Mathematics (magna cum laude) from Brown University. His research assesses marketing processes and develops methods for improving marketing decisions. He is widely regarded for his work estimating the impact of a firm’s marketing actions, designing market and survey research, as well as creating effective communication strategies. Dr. Schmittlein serves on the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business; the International Advisory Board of Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yatsen University; the Advisory Board for the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University; the International Advisory Board for the School of Management, Fudan University; and the Board of Trustees of The Conference Board. He has served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Marketing and Branding. He has been a visiting professor in the Faculty of Economics at Tokyo University, and a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Washington University’s John M. Olin School of Business. Dr. Schmittlein is a member of the American Statistical Association and the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS).

Mr. Kothari is Gordon Y Billard Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With close to two decades at this premier institute, Mr. Kothari recently completed a six-year stint as Deputy Dean at the Sloan School of Management. He is also faculty director of the MIT-India Program http://web.mit.edu/misti/mit-india/ and an editor of the world-renowned academic publication Journal of Accounting & Economics. Recently, in the year 2014 Mr. Kothari was a recipient of the American Accounting Association’s (AAA) Notable Contributions to the Accounting Literature award. His other awards include an honorary doctorate, Doctor Honoris Causa, from the University of Technology, Sydney in May 2013, and a Distinguished Alumnus Award from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in 2013. Mr. Kothari holds a bachelor of engineering degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and has also earned his MBA (PGDM) from one of India’s finest institutes, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Mr. Kothari completed his PhD from University of Iowa, United States. His highly-cited research focuses on the US and international financial reporting practices, the pricing of financial information, investment analysis, and valuation. Mr. Kothari has served as global head of equity research for Barclays Global Investors (BGI), where he was responsible for research supporting BGI’s active equity strategies, from 2008-09. He actively managed equity portfolio which had in excess of $100 billion in assets, and the research team was comprised of approximately 50 PhDs based in San Francisco, London, and Sydney. In addition to all his achievements and management responsibilities, Mr. Kothari has frequently served as a Senior Consultant with Charles River Associates, a business-economics and litigation support consulting firm. He has consulted with many large corporations, including leading US and international banks and asset management companies, Australian television broadcast corporations, US steel companies, E&Y, KPMG, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, and the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Kothari served on the Board of VVisions from 1998-2004 and is currently on the Board of BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and FIA Technology Services. He is an expert on economic policy issues in India and has written numerous opinion-page editorials in The Economic Times.

Charles H. Fine is the Chrysler LGO Professor at MIT Sloan and the founding President and Dean of the Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur, a collaboration between the MIT Sloan School and Bank Negara Malaysia. He was a founding co-director of both MIT’s Communications Futures Program and the Tata Center for Technology and Design at MIT. For over 30 years, Professor Fine has taught MIT Sloan courses in Operations Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, and Innovation.

His research has focused on supply chain strategy and value chain road mapping, with a particular focus on fast-clockspeed manufacturing industries. Fine’s work has supported design and improvement of supply chain relationships for companies in electronics, automotive, aerospace, communications, and consumer products. At MIT Sloan, Professor Fine has taught primarily Operations Strategy and Supply Chain Management. Prof. Fine teaches and consults widely with various clients such as 3M, Accenture, Agile Software, Alcan, BellSouth, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bombardier, Caterpillar, Chrysler, Delphi Automotive, Deutsche Bank Alex Brown, Embraer, Fluor, GE, GM, Goodyear, HP, Honeywell, Intel, Kodak, Lucent, Mercury Computer, Merrill Lynch, Motorola, NCR, Nokia, Nortel, Oracle, Polaroid, PTC, Research-in-Motion, Rolls-Royce, Sematech, Teradyne, Toyota, TRW, Unilever, Volkswagen, Volvo, and Walsin Lihwa. He has also served on the board of directors for Greenfuel Technologies Corporation, a biotechnology company that he co-founded, and Brightstar Corporation which was purchased by Sprint. Fine has also served for over a decade as co-director of an executive education program, Driving Strategic Innovation, which is a joint venture between MIT Sloan and IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland Professor Fine is the author of Clockspeed: Winning Industry Control in the Age of Temporary Advantage, and articles on quality management, flexible manufacturing, supply chain management, and operations strategy.

One of ASEAN’s most recognizable entrepreneurs, Tan Sri Dr. Tony Fernandes is best known for founding AirAsia, the first low cost airline in Malaysia. Fernandes famously bought the ailing airline for a token of RM 1 (approximately 26 US cents) and helmed its expansion from a Malaysia-based domestic carrier to an airline group domiciled in 6 countries, serving over 100 destinations across 24 countries. Under his stewardship, AirAsia has become Asia’s largest low-cost airline group.

Fernandes studied at Epsom College, UK and the London School of Economics and qualified as an Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1991 and a Fellow Member in 1996. An accountant by training, Fernandes began his career in Richard Branson’s Virgin Group before returning to Malaysia as Warner Music Group’s Vice-President for Southeast Asia. Fernandes is also the co-founder of Tune Group, a leisure and entertainment corporation. Tune family of companies share a passion for creativity and ingenuity. The group thrives on providing exciting products and services for all walks of life. From The English football club Queen’s Park Rangers, prepaid telecommunications company Tune Talk, value hotel chain Tune Hotels and insurance provider Tune Protect, Tune Group is driven by their mission to improve and impact the lives of all who use their services.

Fernandes has received numerous awards and accolades over the course of his illustrious career including the Honor of the Commander of the Order of the British Empire, conferred by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2011 for services to promote commercial and educational links between the UK and Malaysia. The French government conferred upon him the Officier of the Legion d’Honneur award, and later the Commander of the Legion d’Honneur for outstanding contributions towards the economy of France through the aviation industry. He was awarded the Inaugural ‘Travel Business Leaders Award’ and the ‘Innovator of the Year’ award by CNBC and the Center for Asia Pacific Aviation’s (CAPA) honored him the Legend Award and indicted him to CAPA’s Aviation Hall of Fame. Forbes Asia also named him its Businessman of the Year for 2010. Fernandes was the first person in the ASEAN region to receive the prestigious award.

Mr Mboweni obtained a Bachelor of Arts (honours equivalent) degree in economics and political science from the National University of Lesotho in 1985. In 1987, he obtained a Master of Arts degree in development economics from the University of East Anglia in England. Mr. Mboweni was Minister of Labour from May 1994 to July 1998 in President Nelson Mandela’s cabinet. Prior to his appointment as Minister of Labour, Mr. Mboweni was Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Policy in the ANC. He also represented the ANC on several domestic and international platforms. Mr Mboweni was a member of the ANC’s National Executive and National Working Committees and was also Chairperson of the National Executive Committee’s Economic Transformation Committee, which coordinated the development of ANC economic policies. Mr Mboweni became one of the World Economic Forum’s Global Leaders of Tomorrow in 1995. In 1997, Mr Mboweni was appointed head of the ANC’s Policy Department which was responsible for managing ANC policy processes. Upon joining the Reserve Bank, he resigned all of his elected and appointed positions in the ANC. He joined the Reserve Bank in July 1998 as Advisor to the Governor. In August 1999, he was appointed Governor of the Bank. During his tenure, he was appointed honorary Professor of Economics at the University of South Africa from 2000 to 2003. In 2001, the University of Natal awarded Mr Mboweni the degree of Doctor of Economics, honoris causa. Mr Mboweni was also elected Chancellor of the University of the North-West and installed as Chancellor on 23 February 2002. The University of Stellenbosch appointed him Professor Extraordinary in Economics for the period 1 April 2002 to 31 March 2005. Mr Mboweni is the non-executive chairman of Nampak Limited, an international adviser to Goldman Sachs International and the former independent non-executive chairman of AngloGold Ashanti Limited. He is also a founding member of Mboweni Brothers Investment Holdings, chairman of the fundraising committee of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, and a trustee and member of the finance committee of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation.

Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Mokhtar is the Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. He is also the Chairman of Iskandar Investment Berhad and Axiata Group Berhad, as well as Trustee of Yayasan Hasanah and Yayasan Khazanah. He holds Board memberships including at Khazanah Research Institute and Jadwa Investment in Saudi Arabia.

He serves on various Malaysian public service bodies including the Special Economic Committee, the National Science Council, the Performance Management and Delivery Unit under the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department, the Capital Market Advisory Group for Securities Commission Malaysia and the National Export Council. He is a member of the Asia Business Council. He was the former Managing Director and co-founder of BinaFikir Sdn Bhd; Director/ Head of Country Research at Salomon Smith Barney Malaysia; and Director/ Head of Research at Union Bank of Switzerland in Malaysia. He also served in various capacities at Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s largest electricity utility company. He obtained his M.Phil in Development Studies with distinction from Darwin College, University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma in Islamic Studies from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Shahril Shamsuddin is currently the President and Group CEO of Sapura Kencana Petroleum Berhad, one of the largest oil field services company with capabilities that cover the entire upstream oil and gas value chain from exploration, development, production, rejuvenation and decommissioning. The Group operates globally with key offices in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.

Shahril is also the President and Group CEO of Sapura Group which manages a diversified portfolio of businesses ranging from aviation services, property development, automotive component manufacturing as well as secured communication technologies. Shahril is a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan Asian Executive Board, a member of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s International Advisory Panel and is an active participant of the World Economic Forum. Shahril holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University.

On November 30, 2008, Martin retired as Chairman, Asia of executive search consultants Spencer Stuart & Associates, after over 16 years with the firm. Prior to Spencer Stuart, Martin ran another international executive search firm in Hong Kong. He was an Executive Director of Techno-Ventures (Hong Kong) Ltd., a leading venture capital firm from 1986-1988. Early in his career, he was with the Bank of America in San Francisco and Taiwan. He then worked as an Executive Director of the publicly-listed South Sea Textile Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in Hong Kong and Indonesia. His recruiting expertise was broadly-based and spanned senior-level and chief executive assignments in the public and private sectors, banking and commerce.

Martin is a Presidential Counsellor and trustee emeritus of Cornell University. He is a Member of the MIT Corporation and was the 112th President of the MIT Alumni Association in 2006-7. Martin was appointed by the Hong Kong Government to a number of positions: Professional Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (2005-9) and the University Grants Committee (2002-8). In early 2012, Martin was asked to join the UGC’s Financial Affairs Working Group. For six years he was a Council Member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and was subsequently a member of the University Court. In 2013, he was appointed Vice Chairman of Council of HKUST. Martin is a director of three publicly-listed companies: Li & Fung Ltd, Hong Kong; China NT Pharma, Hong Kong and CEI Contract Manufacturing Ltd, Singapore. He was formerly Chairman of Midas Printing Group Ltd and a director of Tristate Holdings Ltd, both listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. He was a Committee Member and past President of the German Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong and served on the Asia Society’s Hong Kong Center’s Advisory Council. He is a trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature – Hong Kong and is on the Board of Governors of Junior Achievement Hong Kong. He holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.Sc from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A citizen of Ireland, he is residing in Hong Kong.

Today, BJC is proud to be a provider of marketing, sales and distribution services in Southeast Asia, managing one of the region’s most efficient manufacturing operations. BJC’s product portfolios are diverse – ranging from fast-moving consumer products, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, to packaging products such as glass containers and aluminum beverage cans.

Mr. Gita Wirjawan is the Chairman of Ancora Group, an Indonesian business group with interests in private equity investing, natural resources, real estate, sports, and music, which he founded in 2007. A statesman, entrepreneur, investment banker and musician, Mr. Wirjawan’s career spans the highest levels of government and business. Prior to resuming his role at Ancora, Mr. Wirjawan served as Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia (BKPM). For his extraordinary accomplishments as a cabinet member, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono awarded him the Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana. As an investment banker, he has held key appointments at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan. Mr. Wirjawan played leading roles in many mergers, corporate restructuring, corporate financing and strategic sales involving leading companies in Southeast Asia. His various board roles included service as a Commissioner of state-owned oil giant, Pertamina, and as an Independent Board Director of Axiata Group Berhad. Outside the world of business, his passion lies in philanthropy, education, sports, and music. As a philanthropist, he has endowed scholarships for Indonesians to attend the best universities in the world, including Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, and Sciences Po. In 2008, he established the Gita Wirjawan Graduate Fellowship at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. He is also in the process of establishing 1,000 kindergartens throughout Indonesia. An avid golfer, he has established academies to groom future Indonesian golfers. He is also currently Chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association. And through Ancora Music, he has produced a range of albums that have been critically acclaimed. Mr. Wirjawan is a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Societal Leadership at Singapore Management University, the international advisory board of ACE Group and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Previously, he served on the Dean’s Leadership Council at the Harvard Kennedy School. He holds a BS from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA from Baylor University, and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School. He has an honorary doctorate in business administration from Naresuan University, Thailand. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas, USA, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Dr. Enki Tan is the Executive Chairman of Giti Tire Company Limited. Giti Tire manufactures a wide range of tires sold in more than 100 countries around the world. Giti Tire supplies prominent US, European, Japanese original equipment manufacturers and most major Chinese vehicle brands. Giti Tire has twice won the General Motors Global Supplier of the Year award. D.r Tan is a Director of PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk., an associate company of Giti Tire and the largest Indonesian tire manufacturer. Gajah Tunggal was named by Forbes as one of the “Top 10 – Largest Indonesian Companies” in 2011.

Dr. Tan is the Vice Chairman of Gul Technologies Ltd., a printed circuit board manufacturer. He is also the president director of Bukit Baiduri Energi, an Indonesian thermal coal mining company. He is a board member of United Pacific Bank in California, USA. He was formerly an Executive Director of Tuan Sing Holdings Ltd., and Director of Grand Hotel Group Ltd. in Australia. He serves on the board of Conservation International (CI), which conserves biodiversity and ecosystems globally. He chairs the CI Global Programs Committee. He also serves on the MIT Sloan Asia Executive Board and the Columbia University International Advisory Council. He is a member of the Synergos Global Philanthropic Circle of New York.

Dr. Tan graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Sydney, and obtained an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow. He is a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and is certified by the Medical Board of Australia and the Hong Kong Medical Council.

SPRING Singapore is the Singapore Government’s development agency with the mission of helping Singapore enterprises grow and building trust in Singapore products and services. He is also Chairman of Economic Development Innovations Singapore Pte Ltd (EDIS) which is focused on developing and managing integrated cities and providing industrial development advice to overseas governments and government-related entities. Mr. Yeo was a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration (CEPA), established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) from 2010 to 2013 for the promotion and development of public administration and governance among Member States, in connection with the United Nations Development Agenda. He was a member of World Health Organization Expert Working Group on R&D Financing from January 2009 to January 2010. With the Singapore Government, Mr. Yeo was Special Adviser for Economic Development in the Prime Minister’s Office (April 2007-August 2011), Senior Adviser for Science and Technology, Ministry of Trade and Industry (April 2007-July 2008), Executive Chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (February 2001-March 2007), Executive Chairman of the Economic Development Board (January 1986 -January 2001), Executive Co-Chairman of the Economic Development Board (Feb 2001 to March 2006), Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence for Defence Research, Logistics and Industry (September 1979 to December 1985). In the private sector, Yeo has chaired numerous company boards, including: Singapore Technologies Holdings, Sembawang Corporation, and CapitaLand. Yeo is currently the Chairman of a-iTrust (Ascendas India Trust — Asia’s first listed India property trust) and Accuron Technologies. In addition, he is a non-executive director on the Board of Directors of City Developments Limited, and was appointed as one of the first non-Japanese outside directors of Hitachi alongside George Buckley, the former Chief Executive Officer of 3M. In 2013, Yeo joined the board of directors of the Baiterek National Managing Holding of Kazakhstan, which is a trust management company which manages key Kazakh financial institutions like the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. In December 2013, Yeo joined the Board of Kerry Logistics in Hong Kong.

Ng Kok Song is Chairman of Singapore-based Avanda Investment Management which manages global and Asian investments for long term institutional clients. He also serves on the board of Makena Capital, a California based investment company, and on the global advisory board of PIMCO. He was Chief Investment Officer of GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation) until 2013 when he completed a 42-year career in the investment of Singapore’s foreign reserves. Before joining GIC in 1986, Mr Ng was at the Ministry of Finance (1970-71) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (1972-1986). In Singapore, Mr Ng serves on the Capital Markets Committee of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He is a board director of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and founder Chairman of the Wealth Management Institute. Mr Ng graduated in Physics from the University of Singapore (1970) and in Management from Stanford University (1980).

Mr Shin Nakamura is the President of Daiwa Steel Tube Industries Co. Ltd., a manufacturing company specializing in galvanized steel tubes for a wide range of industries. Mr. Nakamura joined Daiwa Steel Tube Industries in 2003 as the third generation business owner and leader (Daiwa was founded by his grandfather Mr. Tomeichi Nakamura). Mr. Nakamura transformed Daiwa Steel by redeveloping its business infrastructure, implemented new business strategies in the domestic and overseas market and restructure its enterprise system through state of the art ICT, human resource management and leadership/communication techniques. Mr. Nakamura acquired Daiwa Lance International (DLI), one of the biggest calorized lance tube manufacturing company in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and supplies its products to over 250 companies in over 50 countries. Mr. Nakamura had also established Daiwa Anaya Steel in Kolkata, India to promote its products in India.

Prior to joining Daiwa, Mr. Nakamura was appointed as a consultant for Bain & Company (Japan), a leading global strategy consulting firm and as an engagement manager for Netyear Group Corporation, a Strategic Internet Professional Service (SIPS) provider for various industries. Mr Nakamura currently serves as the Vice Regional Chair of the Young Presidents’ Organization North Asia Region and was previously the president for MIT Sloan Society in Japan. In 2015, he was awarded he Harold E. Lobdell ’17 Distinguished Service Award by MIT. Fluent in English and Japanese, Mr. Nakamura received his Bachelor of Art degree in Economics from Keio University of Japan in 1994 and his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management in 1999.

May Lim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College and a Masters of Science degree in Management from the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a Wellesley Scholar and member of Phi Beta Kappa. She started her career with the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, went on to work for Citibank in Manila and the Asian Development Bank headquartered in Manila. Her years of experience in banking covered bank operations, management information systems, international investments, capital markets, treasury operations, asset liability management, credit appraisal, investor relations, risk management, client relationship management and project financing. At Citibank, she was responsible for lending and account management of clients in the mining, airline, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. At the Asian Development Bank, she managed the European Funding Program and dealt with leading international underwriters and securities firms, rating agencies, central banks, regulatory authorities, clearing and custody systems and institutional investors. She did project finance work in the education sector in Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines, working with co-financiers like the World Bank, and Canadian, Danish and Japanese aid agencies. She was involved in the Asian Development Bank’s projects to build a new university campus in Indonesia, Secondary Education Project for the Philippines and Post Secondary Project for Bangladesh. Ms Lim joined Signium International in 1999 as Managing Partner Malaysia. She opened the Signium Malaysia office in Kuala Lumpur. In 2005, she opened the Signium Singapore office. Clients served were leading multinational, regional, Malaysian and Singapore companies. Ms Lim was a Director of Maybank Life Assurance Bhd and a Non-Executive Director of International School of Kuala Lumpur. She served as Governor in American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and was the President of MT Club of Malaysia. Presently she is the Managing Director of Stanford Properties Sdn Bhd, Medini Residences Sdn Bhd and Medini Heights Sdn Bhd.

Marjorie Yang is Chairman of Esquel Group, a leading Hong Kong-based textile and apparel manufacturer with operations throughout the world.

Marjorie has a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Marjorie has been a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since 2003. She also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC), with the purpose of providing advice to the Mayor of Seoul.

Marjorie is dedicated to promoting education and innovative technologies, she is the Co-chairman of the advisory board of CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab) at MIT. She is also the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Coding and Computational Thinking Education at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

She also serves as Member of various advisory boards including Harvard University, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan and Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. She has been the Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for six years till year 2015.

Marjorie is a strong believer in sustainable development and environmental conservation and holds membership in the Advisory Council of Natural Resources Defense Council in China.

Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour is the Deputy Governor, Bank Negara Malaysia and is responsible for the financial sector regulation and development including payment systems as well as the international reserve management and money market operations and foreign exchange administration.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, he was the Assistant Governor for the Bank’s Monetary and Economics Sector, which also includes the international relations and statistical services functions of the Bank. He is also a member of the Monetary Policy Committee, the Management Committee, the Reserve Management Committee and the Risk Management Committee of the Bank.

He started his career in the Bank Regulation Department of Bank Negara Malaysia and during his career in the Bank that spans over 20 years, he has been involved in key areas of central banking, including as the Director of Financial Sector Development Department, which is responsible for developing strategic plan for the overall development of the financial system. He has also served as the Director of the Financial Surveillance Department, which is responsible for undertaking a comprehensive and integrated macroprudential surveillance to preserve stability of the overall financial system and as the Director of the Prudential Financial Policy Department, which is responsible for the formulation of prudential policies for the banking and insurance sector.He was responsible for the successful implementation of the recommendations of the Financial Sector Masterplan 2001 – 2010, that charts the development of the Malaysia’s financial sector over the last decade.

Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour was also instrumental in the overall formulation of the Financial Sector Blueprint 2011 – 2020, a strategic plan that charts the future direction of the Malaysia’s financial system.He also served as the Alternate Executive Director representing Malaysia on the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund, in Washington DC, between November 2012 to October 2014.

Mr Rolando C Gapud is Executive Chairman of Del Monte Pacific Limited, a company listed on the Singapore and Philippine Stock Exchanges. He has over 35 years of experience in banking, finance and general management, having worked as CEO of several Philippine companies, notably Security Bank and Trust Company, Oriental Petroleum and Minerals Corp and Greenfield Development Corp. He was also the COO of the joint venture operations of Bankers Trust and American Express in the Philippines.

He has served in the Boards of various major Philippine companies, including the Development Bank of the Philippines, the development finance arm of the Philippine Government. Mr Gapud is the Chairman of the Board of Del Monte Foods, Inc, DMPL’s US subsidiary. He is also a Director of FieldFresh Foods Private Ltd, a joint venture of DMPL with the Bharti Group of India.

He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Management degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Asian Executive Board of the Sloan School in MIT.
