Your manager has been called to an urgent meeting, before he leaves you are called to his office and he informs you that a client is expected to arrive at 1pm this afternoon for a meeting to discuss a new project.

You are to meet the client outside a restaurant called “The Crowne”. The client’s details are as follows:

Name: Mr James Sinclair

Meeting: Regarding a needs analysis for a new project called the “Blue Project”.

Time of meeting: 1pm

Instructions: Meet the client, discuss the project over lunch at the Restaurant.

Task 1

It’s 1pm and you are standing outside the Restaurant, you can see the client standing infant of you. Approach the client and introduce yourself.

You will now be presented with a menu for “The Crowne Restaurant”.

Task 2

As you enter the restaurant, a waiter will approach you. Interact with the waiter, use a modal to request a table for 2 people.

You will be seated and you will be asked for your drinks order. Order your drinks but interact with your client to find out what they would like.

When the waiter returns with your drinks he will present you with a menu and return shortly to find out what you would like to order.

Talk to your client to find out what they would like to order.

Task 3

You have ordered your starters and your main course. Interact with your client to build a relationship before doing a needs analysis.

How many people will be involved in the project?

What are the basic goals of the project?

What are the deadlines involved?

What is the budget?

What stage is the project currently in?

* Think of some other questions that you would normally use in this type of situation.

The waiter brings your food and you and your client have now finished. Catch the attention of your waiter and request the desert menu.

Remember to interact with your client to find out what they would like to have.

At the end of your meal, you must request the bill.

As you and your client exit the Restaurant, you need to thank your client for meeting with you and take down their email address.

Task 4

You will write an email using the Skype chat box to thank your client for their time taken to meet you. The following list are the objectives of your email:

• Thank them for their time

• Set up a time to meet to discuss the project in more detail.

• Provide them with your contact details.

Your teacher will provide you with a book on how to write business emails to support this task.
