The mission of the Blount County Education Foundation is

to promote academic excellence in Blount County Schools.

2018-2019 Grant Awards

Celebrating 20 Years of Boosting Children’s Success in Blount County Schools!

November 20, 2018

The Blount County Education Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of the following grants for 2018-2019. Grants are awarded to 161 projects representing 183 teachers!!! These are record numbers for classroom grants awards!!! The Board of Directors is thrilled to award 20 Anniversary Grants as a part of this grant announcement.

In addition to the classroom grants awarded other projects implemented this year include:

· The Summer Learning Program which served over 1,200 students in 2018 through summer library and enrichment camps at ten schools, 30 academic camps, and Dreamcatcher Camp

· Sponsoring the District Scholar’s Bowl, Visual Arts Exhibition, Spelling Bee, Youth Leadership Development Program, and Math Tournament, and more!!

· Sponsoring the High School Ambassadors

· Recognizing the Blount County Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year with special grants

· Supporting at-risk/struggling learners with intervention and resources

· The STEAM Initiative throughout the school district

· The Health Sciences Occupations Unit Project

· And MORE!!!!

Since 1998, the Blount County Education Foundation has provided over $3.5 million through its projects to support Blount County students and teachers.
