WHO WE ARE

bloomscape is an office for architecture, interiors and corporate design based in Bergamo.

Rosario Distaso and Katrin Wichelhaus set up their joint practice in 2004 when they were commissioned by the trademark ESPRIT for their store rollout across Italy.

The international couple met in 1999 during their architecture studies at the Politecnico di Milano and both gained experience and inspiration through their studies abroad and from working in a number of architecture firms in Europe and Australia.

Since the establishment the office has completed over 150 projects in Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland, taking responsibility for all aspects of the planning process from planning to preparation and actual construction.

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

More brains, better design.

“bloom-scape” was founded with the idea that innovative design solutions can bloom if you bring together people with different skills, such as architects, graphic & product designers and engineers.

We believe that design is moving away from the traditional idea that architects are all-compassing master builders and that it is the successful interplay of disciplines and collaborations that will drive new ideas and originate outstanding projects.

Our role is that of a guiding coordinator and communicator, assuming the responsibility for organising the variety of professionals and for the quality of the overall result.

We develop and realise innovative shop concepts, creating retail environments that successfully represent brand and customer.

Building about 20 points of sale per year for ESPRIT, we offer extensive know-how in all project phases for shop and store rollouts.

We understand that international clients face a series of challenges when expanding into Italy such as language, local regulations and cultural differences.

Our mission is to solve these problems at the interface, providing an overall service in “brand architecture” with well-trained collaborators and an efficient network of consultants across Italy.
