BLOOD ON HER NAME

Logline A woman’s panicked decision to cover up an accidental killing spirals out of control when her conscience demands she return the dead man’s body to his family.

Synopsis The dead body lies at her feet, its blood still draining onto the floor. It was an accident, borne of self-defense, but its discovery could have devastating consequences for local garage owner Leigh Tiller (Bethany Anne Lind) and her son. In a panic, Leigh decides to conceal the crime, cleaning the bloody scene and scrambling to dispose of the body.

But can she actually disappear a man from the earth— from his family— leaving them forever wondering? As Leigh is torn between her primal instincts and tortured conscience she struggles to keep her sins hidden from her estranged father-- a cop with a long history of moral compromise (Will Patton)-- and from the keen-eyed girlfriend of the deceased (Elisabeth Rohm). Blood On Her Name is a character-driven thriller that explores questions of guilt, moral identity, and the irrevocability of choices in the direst circumstances.

Bethany Anne Lind Reviews have described Bethany Anne Lind as “an actress of remarkable versatility,” “a major talent,” and “a wonder” in performances spanning theater, film and television. She is set to play Molly on Hulu’s forthcoming “Reprisal” from Warren Littlefield (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) after recently appearing in Netflix’s “Ozark” and “Stranger Things,”  AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and “Turn,” and “Greenleaf” on OWN. Her feature credits include Flight, Crackerjack, and several films set to release in 2019 and 2020. Her theater work has graced stages coast to coast, including in Atlanta, which she loves calling home.

WILL PATTON Will Patton has worked extensively in film and theater, but is perhaps best known for his roles in Remember the Titans, Armageddon, The Mothman Prophecies, and No Way Out. He was most recently seen in David Gordon Green’s box office smash hit Halloween alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.

Other recent films include Megan Leavey with Kate Mara and Edie Falco and the indie favorite, Cannes Festival Prize winner, American Honey directed by Andrea Arnold. He has been in over sixty feature films including, The Scent Of Rain & Lightning, The Girl, The November Man, Meeks Cutoff, Brooklyn’s Finest, A Mighty Heart, The 4th Kind, Gone In 60 Seconds, The Postman, After Hours, The Rapture, Inventing The Abbotts, The Client, In The Soup, and Desperately Seeking Susan.

On TV, Will currently stars in the role of Avery Sunderland in Swamp Thing-- the highly anticipated new series from DC Comics and James Wan. He also starred in the critically acclaimed FOX series Shots Fired and in five seasons of Steven Spielberg’s Falling Skies as Captain Weaver.

ELISABETH RÖHM Elisabeth Rohm co-starred in David O. Russell’s Joy opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro. This was her second collaboration with David following the huge success of American Hustle in which she had a pivotal role opposite Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and Amy Adams. The film won numerous accolades for its ensemble cast including the coveted SAG Award.

Elisabeth will next be seen in the Roger Ailes biopic Fair and Balanced portraying Fox News host Martha MacCallum for Lionsgate and director Jay Roach. She recently wrapped production on the Lifetime feature Family Pictures opposite Justina Machado. She played a key role in Tribes of Palos Verdes opposite Jennifer Garner for IFC Films and Relativity Media. Other notable film credits include Trafficked with Ashley Judd and Once Upon A Time In Venice opposite Bruce Willis and Jason Momoa. 

She is recognized for her rich body of work in the television space, notably starring as Serena Southerlyn on Law & Order for five seasons and Kate Lockley on The WB series Angel. More recently, Elisabeth co-starred with Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q on Stalker for CBS, starred opposite Eric Dance on The Last Ship for TNT and Michael Bay, and had memorable arcs on Will Arnett’s Netflix series Flaked as well as The CW hit show Jane the Virgin.

Director/Writer Bio: Matthew Pope is an award winning writer and director and the founder of Modest, a boutique film, television and commercial production company. His work has won film festivals and national awards including the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award, an honor that resulted in his short film The Line Starts Here screening on over 20,000 theater screens in the US.  

Matthew attended the graduate program at the Florida State University Conservatory of Film & Television. His debut feature, Blood On Her Name, is set to premiere at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival. He lives and writes on a small farm outside Atlanta.

Producer/Writer Bio: A Los Angeles native, Don Thompson has worked as a Producer and UPM on features, nationally broadcast commercials, and music videos including spots for Mizuno, Kelloggs, Universal Studios, and L'Oreal, as well as videos for Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Flo-Rida, and Panic! at the Disco.

Along with co-conspirator Matthew Pope, he runs Rising Creek Films where the two write, develop, and produce feature films that push the boundaries of what audiences expect a genre film can be. Blood On Her Name is the company’s debut feature.
