The, Utah Division o f Oil, Ga s and Mining, Abandoned Mine Reclamation Program (UDOGM, AMRP) is scheduled to conduct reclamation o f existing physical safety hazards that were created from previous and now abandoned mining activities in th e Lakeside Mountains, some o f which ar e located within th e boundaries of your recently staked unpate:oted mining claims. Th e inventory, public meetings, engineering and design and th e Environmental Assessment (EA) have aU 'been c()mpleted and th e Decision Record wa s signed on February 13,2009, This gives the UDOGM. AMRP th e approval to move forward with their project in the Lakes ide Mountains. At the present time the construction phase for this project is scheduled for June 2009 and the proposed method o f closure for the physical safety h ~ r d s located within the boundaries o f your c1aiIUS will be backfilling with existing surrounding material. I f you do not wish this to occur, yo u must take responsibility for th e affected features by filing an, exploration notice as per 43 CFR § 3809.21 an d 43 CF R § 3809.420(b)(13) with thjs office. This notice must include a n o f the information requested in 43 CF R § 3809.301, including a :reclamation cost estinui.te to fully reclaim your proposed operations as required by § 3809.552. Your proposal must also comply with th e 3715.2 and 3715.2-1 regulations, Y all: have 15 calendar days from the receipt o f this letter to submit the exploration notice along with a reclamation cost estimate that satisfies 43 CFR § 3809.301, or we will assume that you do no t wish to accept responsibility fo r the relevant features. In addition, a temporary financial guarantee th e amount o f he reclamation cost estimate must be submitted within 30 calendar days o f receipt of this letter. If yo u cannot meet these timeframes, please contact Lany Garabana at • Salt Lake Field Office Geologist, to obtain an extension. His telephone number is (801) 977-4371.
